May Happenings

This week brought us a new friend - Jacquie Cammarata - all the way from Marquette, Michigan! Jacquie's father is the pastor of a church that has come to us for Mission Trips. She is also the niece of former GG board member, Jean Dougherty. We have been tickled pink to have her with us as an incredibly helpful volunteer! Thanks, Jacquie!
Tie-dyeing, cooking, emptying the warehouse, cleaning, and farming tasks have filled up our week. Today the Salem class is with us and tomorrow we have a special visit with the younger kids from Leetonia. We love days with our classroom friends!
Next week, we head to Whispering Pines on Monday for some volunteer time.

At Camp Frederick

Last Friday, we had our annual trip to Camp Frederick for the special needs camp days. We led a lesson about parts of a plant and made seed balls with the groups. Of course there was also plenty of time for fun and enjoying nature! Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make camp fantastic once again.

Mission Encouragement

Check out this link sent in by Carl Landis, Women of the Word, for some inspiring stories and helpful information. (Thanks, Carl!) "Wycliffe Women of the Word is an initiative designed to connect women to Scripture, allowing them to recognize their God-given value as women and the role they play in his mission. When women are affirmed and encouraged by the truth that God has created them to fulfill a specific role in his kingdom, they are better equipped to reach others with the power of Scripture — in their families, communities and around the world." This resource is a project of Wycliffe Bible Translators, of which Adam and Bonnie Shank are a part.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
