Hi !

I have been thinking about this. For our hobby, we often set goals for ourself... because many of us (my hand is held HIGH!) do better with a end date, a plan, a goal, a deadline.

My BIG goal this year is to finish some UFOs. We made a list (HERE is MY true confession list)

Using the American Patchwork & Quilting UFO busting challenge, 1 a month is a great plan.

But......

I don't want to work on the one I selected. Nor do I want to work on another one I selected.

So what do we (ok.. I...) do about this?

First I figured out WHY i didn't want to work on the 'assigned project'. Mostly the top 2 or 3 are to machine quilt them and I recently did a lot of machine quilting so i want a change.

Second I gave myself permission to change. MY BIG goal is to work on a UFO to finish it each month. So I pulled out my Jolly Bar project and I'm sewing the top. THIS makes me happy.

My Website for Challenges and Sew Along!

We are on my fifth Solstice block, Gramma Anna's Basket. I decided to use up every single scrap i had of the very old Moda scissor fabric in the very perfect shade of red. I kept these pieces just waiting for the right project. That is why it's all HST and not Flying Geese, not big enough pieces!

Also I want to say how excited I am that SO MANY of you tried Applique for the first time... you are ROCK STARS. I have you the tutorial link on my page and of course my Best Selling Applique book has step by step photos.

BIG HINT... see.. if you READ everything you get to see my HINT.. (wink wink!) I have done the quilt layout and soon I'll share it. Depends on my timing to get it ready to share.. so this coming week will still be one block, then i think the week after I'll have it ready so you can see where my very personal quilt is going.

The Splendid Sampler Sew Along!

This is what is on my table tonight to work on. Block 94/100 of the Splendid Sampler project that my good friend Jane Davidson and I organized and have been running since last January. Block #100 comes out Feb 12, it's been an exciting year!

If you didn't start yet but want to, or you made just a few blocks and want to get back into it... we will start to 'Sew the Book' in April. This first year was super fun, but it's JUST the beginning. A handful of people kept up, but we know thousands and thousands will continue to sew with us, and new people are joining every day!
