NEWS & EVENTS

Summer at GG

We started this week off with a visit to Whispering Pines. It was a beautiful day for weeding!

Tuesday's lunch this week was the best oven fried chicken (soaked in buttermilk and hot sauce before breading) that you could ever imagine! It was served with fresh fruit, homemade fruit dip, brown rice, and blueberry muffins made with real blueberries. Our kitchen crew rocks! Thanks, Sue!!

Tuesday also brought a visit from the Transition class, so all the new students could get acquainted with Goodness Grows. It was awesome to welcome old and new friends! Leetonia and Mohawk should both be starting next week, so we are pretty excited.

Today is CSA Day. After this, we have only 6 weeks left for the CSA. Almost time to start planning for next year!

Tomorrow, we will be heading out on a "field trip" to the Canfield Fair! If you are there, maybe we will run into you while we are exploring. We are looking forward to the animals, the exhibits and, of course, fair food!

We did have some sad news this week. Our intern Trevor, who planned on staying through October, will actually be leaving us at the end of the week. He decided to head back to Maine for college, so we are happy for him, but we sure will miss his kindness and patience here at GG.

Goodness Grows is closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday. We will be ready to get back into our routine on Tuesday!

OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Coat & Clothing Drive

Ongoing Outreach/Mission Opportunity
Drop items off in the collection barrel or take them up to the Green Room, anytime throughout the year!

Let your friends and family know that we accept donations year-round. Help us spread the word!

We are happy to take coats, clothes, shoes, purses and bags, jewelry, hats, gloves and mittens, scarves, and even small household items. We will accept anything that is clean and in good repair that you think someone else might be able to use! Last year, items like purses, shoes, and baby clothes were in high demand. Folks also enjoyed the random item table that had pictures, blankets, glasses, etc. You never know what might make someone's day. One man's trash is another man's treasure!

Date for Giveaway Set ~ Saturday, October 12th, 10am-1pm!

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
