It's been a very full, fun, and busy spring. Between the North Carolina trip in April and 3 weeks in Switzerland in May (having family in distant spots makes for a lot of fun travel at times), there were just 3 weeks to get a long list of tasks accomplished.
One of the main things on that list was organizing and hanging an exhibit of my work at a local spa. The exhibit, Sacred in the Ordinary: Photographs by Gail S. Haile is a sampling of some of my favorite images. Each room in the spa has it's own theme for images. The image above is featured in the Water room along with several others.
April Cacciatori is the owner and visionary behind Zensations, a spa that includes art as part of the mind/body experience. Four times each year, April hosts a different artist to fill the spa with inspiring art work. I'm honored that she asked me to be her featured artist for the summer.
April makes these exhibits go even further to support art in the community. She donates 15% of art sales to a Dollars for Scholars special scholarship that supports a graduating high school student who is pursuing advanced education in the arts. I am pleased to have my work support such a cause.
This Thursday, June 19th, there will be a reception at the spa (316 N. Washington St., Rome, NY 13440) from 6 - 9 pm with refreshments. I hope that you are able to join April and me for part of the evening.
