President's Update

HCBA/TKA Alumni,

Greetings from Seymour, TN, and the campus of The King's Academy. I pray that this email finds you and your family well. Here at The King's Academy, we are excited to be finishing out an incredible school year while preparing for an active summer of improvements and preparations moving forward. Throughout this academic year, we have achieved many exciting milestones and achievements both in and outside of our classrooms. We welcomed students from our 100th and 101st nations (Bonaire and New Guinea) in the history of our boarding program, while also excelling athletically and academically.

As our attention turns to the upcoming year, please join us in praying for the Lord's provision in regard to enrollment and favor within our local and global communities. We continue to be in contact with students across the globe as families partner with TKA for their child's educational journey. It is my hope that you will be able to join us on campus for one of the many events coming up for our alumni. We covet your prayers and greatly appreciate your support as we continue to seek to develop servant leaders that will change the world for Christ.

In Christ,

Jeremy Sandefur
President

2023 Legacy Award Recipients

Janice Mink & Rich Wallace

In February, the annual Legacy Awards were presented during a special presentation at the Love Gala hosted at Johnson University. The Legacy Award was established to honor a lifetime of faithful support to TKA/HCBA to deserving recipients who gave of their time, energy, efforts, resources, and so much more.

Ms. Janice Mink was recognized for serving 39 years as a dedicated member of our school faculty and staff. Ms. Janice Mink is a walking legend on the campus of The King’s Academy as she has served faithfully for four decades and is leaving a legacy like few who have come before her, while setting the standard for all who are currently employed and are yet to come. Ms. Mink is the definition of dedication and professionalism as she has ushered hundreds, albeit thousands, of students from across the globe into their opportunity as TKA Lions.

Mr. Rich Wallace has long dedicated his time, energy, and resources into the ministry of The King’s Academy. Mr. Wallace has faithfully served as a member of our Board of Trustees, chairing it for some time, along with dedicating his energy to protecting the legacy and the future of The King’s Academy. As a successful lawyer within our community, Mr. Wallace has provided much wisdom, discernment, and encouragement to academy leaders for many years.

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Janice Mink and Mr. Rich Wallace on this prestigious and well-deserved recognition.

J.T. Shen Science Center at Atchley Hall

Update

As announced earlier this year, we are making renovations to Atchley Hall for the J.T. Shen Science Center. The walls in Atchley Hall have come down and the initial construction phases are beginning.

We are looking forward to the many more lives of students who will be impacted for Christ through this new and exciting STEAM building.

Legacy Fund Update

The Legacy Fund was established in 2021 as a general development fund aimed at the ability to allow those willing to leave a legacy of giving at The King's Academy. The 2022 Legacy Fund was well-funded by the generous gifts of many who faithfully gave of their resources.

The Legacy Fund was able to provide the following on campus during the 2021-22 academic year: furnishings for the
Dr. Carroll Reece Reagan Pavilion, Love Where We Live campaign needs, bumper stickers and marketing supplies, a new LED sign for the entrance at Boyd's Creek, a new walk-in freezer for the Food Services department, water filling stations throughout campus, bonuses for faculty, mulch for the PreK and Elementary playground, and much more.

We are grateful to all who gave so generously to the Legacy Fund and gratefully welcome all gifts to help further the Legacy of The King's Academy!
