Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"I pray you have had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. If you don’t have a Valentine – just remember – Jesus is our everyday Valentine. He is so sweet! We never need candy. Jesus is our everything. Oh how sweet it is to trust Him in all we do. He is our never failing – never heart breaking – never disappointing Love."

"My WORD for this week is “GUARD.” We need to “guard” our heart. Our heart is so precious. God designed our bodies so that the sternum protects and helps “guard” our heart. He thought so much of us even before He formed us – He wanted only His protection over us. We sometimes get hurt emotionally if we don’t “guard” our heart. Now that doesn’t mean not to love – but it does mean to be more aware and cautious. Our heart can sometimes get hardened from time after time emotional hurt to it. Let us be careful not to let that happen. The Holy Spirit will be our comfort and peace through ALL things. He will help “guard” us from harm. Be careful not to “guard” our hearts too much that we forget to show Jesus's love to everyone we come in contact with. He is depending on us – to love one another – just as He loves us. Let’s not let Him down. Dear Jesus – help us “guard” our heart perfectly, keeping harm out and letting Your love flow."

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." ~ Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)

We have been outside working and hiking a bunch this week. Although it is still very early in the year, we've seen some signs of spring...like the buds in the middle picture above! We've also been busy cleaning up trash as well as fallen branches. Rachel even got the tractor out to dig up some more "buried treasure" trash. The interesting find of the week is in the picture to the left. We would love to hear your guesses as to what it is!

Our crew made a Sam's Club run on Monday. It was a beautiful day for a drive. While out and about, we also found some more seeds and some lovely seed potatoes. We cannot wait for planting to begin!

On Wednesday, we enjoyed time with some special guests and celebrated Tori's birthday. (Happy Birthday, Tori Snyder!!!) It is always fun when we get to celebrate one of our crew. Thanks to Nancy and Sue for the delicious birthday goodies.

Next week will be a four day week for us. Goodness Grows will be closed on Monday for Presidents' Day. We are all looking forward to next Thursday since it is another Cooking with Pastor Mike Day! Our plan is to create another big pot of soup, vegetable beef this time. We will definitely share pictures of the fun and deliciousness.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

you were doing it to me.
