Buddy 1

Buddy! Staffy ears, lab head, kelpie body :)

Hi Member,

Last Saturday we welcomed Buddy into our family.

Ever since my staffy, Nina died so unexpectedly in December, there's been a dog-sized hole in my heart. I've spent time looking at the local AWL website adoption page but I just couldn't make myself visit because I knew I would find it impossible to make a choice. How could I choose just one dog and leave all the others?

The events of last year have slowly worn my normally tough skin pretty thin, and no matter how much I desperately wanted another dog, I just couldn't face the pound. So after lots of thought, I signed up to become a foster carer for rescue dogs and Buddy's our first foster fur friend. He's got a few problems we need to help him with and my kids are convinced I'm going to be a foster fail. Maybe I will, and maybe I won't, but I figure it doesn't matter either way. Buddy's helping to fill the hole in my heart and we've given him a safe place to live - so we can all see how we go from there.

But of course, I haven't just put this eNews together to share my news about Buddy! You'll also find some great resources to share with your clients over Easter - especially about the dangers of chocolate. And there's another blog post in one of my favourite series - The person behind the business... This week Nathan Harris, COO & co-founder of Knose was happy to answer some of my (many) questions and show us just how passionate he is about their business and the veterinary industry in general.

Our aim is to help you - save time, connect & discover!

Enjoy your reading :)

Australian Veterinary Nurses - Have your say!

Survey Closes 31st March

Participate in a work stress and well-being survey for a chance to win one of three $100 gift vouchers AND make a valuable contribution to important research for the veterinary industry.

Did you know that previous research revealed that vet nurses experience higher levels of job burnout that most human healthcare professions? And yet vet nurses remain one of the most under-researched professions of all.

This is your chance to help change that. Regardless of whether or not you personally struggle with job stress, EVERY survey response counts in contributing to a better understanding of stress, resilience, mental health and well-being within the veterinary nursing profession as a whole.

Survey closes on the 31st March - click here to find out more & to have your say...
