Hello health lovers!

Well hello my little cherubine health lovers, what a beautiful day it is! What you say?!? All days are beautiful in my world, even cold and cloudy ones (although now it has turned quite sunny!).

How do I find you today?

The newsletter for this month is coming out a little earlier than normal as I shall be gloriously away for the next 6 days resting and recharging my batteries. I'm off to Penrose Burden in Cornwall, my little bolt hole and the venue for our Detox Retreat. I can't wait to have lie ins, not have to worry about being anywhere at any time and soak up the amazing scenery, whilst being fussed over and taking the resident black lab Dillon for swims in the river - am I making you jealous?!? I hope so, its truly brilliant there.

March happenings

March has been a busy month! We had our first outdoor Meditation Group and had our incredible Detox Day with the lovely Hannah Howard. This has got me right back into juicing and wishing yet again she was my personal chef.

Hannah spoke about her choice of foods for the day, including a yummy green juice and how we must support our key detox organs to allow the body to do its thing. I walked the group through the workings of the mind and we looked at a key theme of "being enough". In the afternoon everyone chilled out with a Mindful Woodland Walk taking in nature with all of our senses and reconnecting ourselves back to our essence. Combining both a physical and mental detox at the same time is simply one of the best ways to shift an issue, so it was an absolute delight to be able to provide both at the same time.

Feedback from the day was excellent, and as a result our 12-14th June Mark Cross Weekend Retreat is half full - so if you wish to attend you may wish to get your booking in quick! If you would like to see a copy of the recipes from the day then they can be found on Hannah's website here:

The next event in the Holistic Day series is on Sat 23rd May, 10-4.30pm. More details and the link to book can be found here:

A few changes

I wanted to let you know about a small change I am making to the Salt Cave meditation sessions. These will now run fortnightly rather than 3 weeks in 4. This is to allow a new Ascension Meditation group to form on the Tuesday that is being dropped. Anyone that has learnt Ascension is welcome to come, and these will be from 7.30pm onwards at my house. Please contact garuda@thebrightpath.com for more information or to find out more about Ascension meditation and how it can bring you a more permanent experience of peace.

The Tuesday morning sessions in Mark Cross remain the same.

Next dates

Our full set of Meditation Dates are up on the Mind Detox Tunbridge Wells Facebook event page. Please either sign up there or drop me a reply email to confirm your place. Remember, you are welcome to join us from afar - simply sit down at the same time with the intention to connect to you inner stillness and that will be enough.

And finally...

I'm putting a plea out for your help.

Since November 2014 I have been supporting someone with M.E and debilitating gut issues. M.E., also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is in my view one of the most debilitating illnesses there is because it simply strips you of your life. I know because I had it. I know the heartbreak, days lost, not being able to do any of the things you love or enjoy, the lack of help available from the NHS or the mental anguish that goes with not knowing what is going on or how on earth you are going to get better. You feel separated from life, helpless and miserable.

The truth is, M.E. is not necessarily a life sentence, and people just like I did, do recover. However, this is not without a huge amount of support from amazing people around you that believe in you, pull out all the stops for you and want you to be well. They literally give you the courage to find yourself and rise up out of the ashes into something far more grand than you ever were before.

Which is why, I am asking for your support.

Ren has barely been able to eat any of the kind of food you and I would enjoy for about three years. He endures crippling exhaustion, brain fog, muscle aches, confusion, debilitating mood swings and anxiety. On top of that he has had to give up his career in music whilst he watches all his band mates go on to major success. The worst part of it is, he's genuinely one of the nicest, kindest and most caring people I have ever met.

In the time I've been working with him, he's worked hard to turn around his situation (as he has been for many years prior), but none of us can do this kind of work on our own. Which is where you come in.

There is something that could help Ren, and that's Fecal Microbial Transplant. If you don't know anything about it, Google it - because its been hitting the news for all the right reasons. (I'm not going to explain it here - you'll see why!!). This procedure isn't currently available on the NHS, so it has to be paid for privately. The projected medical costs for 20 days of treatment - which is potentially what a gut as unbalanced as Ren's needs, is £8,500. I don't normally support radical physical interventions, but because of my ecology background - and because I know what he has been through and what he wants to achieve in life, this one I do.

He's managed to raise 1/8th of that already, by people like you and I digging into their pockets and giving what they can. If everyone on this list gave just £5 it would raise £300 towards Ren's treatment and even more importantly - it would give him the faith to know he can get his life back.

There is no them and us

I know that human beings are kind, caring and helpful people - and for that I am very grateful. I also know that there is no them and us, we are all one - so if one person is suffering, we all do. If one person turns their life around, they turn it around for all of us, and trust me when I say that a happy and healthy Ren has a lot to give.

You can read about Ren's story and make a donation here (which is of definite interest to those of you that has or knows anyone that has M.E. or food intolerances). If you want to listen to some of the music he created before he got too ill to record, you can do so here and if you want to follow or share the blog on M.E. he has created - you can here. I trust you will take the time to learn more about his experience and reach out a helping hand.
