CG NEWS & EVENTS

Garden News

Garden kids will remain in Worship this week. Activity pages and colored pencils will be available on the table by the Sanctuary door. Pat Shannon will lead the Garden on May 13th, kids will remain in Worship on the 20th for Communion, and we will finish out the school year on the 27th with Jen Lynch leading.

Garden Summer Break

Summer Break starts on June 3rd. While our leaders will miss the time spent teaching and learning with the kids in the Garden, summer offers an equally beneficial opportunity of an extended period of intergenerational worship. We look forward to this season of experiencing the importance and joy of time spent in worship together.

Youth Group News

Last Sunday we discussed our fears and how to handle the storms in our lives, before enjoying some very interesting games. Hope to see everyone this week as we spend more time in God's Word together. There will be no Youth Group on May 13th, which means there are only two more Youth Group evenings left before summer break! (Snack: Christopher Lynch )

Bible Studies

Sunday Morning: Pat Shannon leads a class on the book of Matthew; 9:30 - 10:30am.
*(No Adult Class this week.)

Wednesday Morning: Ladies Study - Dwelling in God's Peace from the Jesus Calling Bible Study Series by Sarah Young; 9am.

Friday Evening: Bible Study at the Shannon's house; 6pm.

You are welcome to join in a study at any time!

OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Outreach in the Family File Folder Box

Requests for donations to many worthwhile organizations come into Common Ground each month. The Outreach committee often goes through them to decide how to spend "mission" money. We have started a file in the very back of the Family File Folder Box in which to collect these mailings. Feel free to check it out if you would like to see information from many different groups, including the Rescue Mission, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and CWS.

Coat & Clothing Drive

Ongoing Mission Opportunity
Any time throughout the year that you have clothing and outerwear to donate, remember that you can bring it right here. Drop items off in the storage room by the Cafe or up in the Green Room. Collection will continue right up until our October Giveaway Day.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.

Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
