Fall 2016 Vincent Family Update

After the busy summer, we made a quick trip to Virginia for a family vacation. In a few short days we experienced a diverse sampling of our country. The week began in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia at The Simple Way's block party. By the next evening, we were at sea level wading in the ocean on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Next it was on to the mountains with an elevation of 3,680 feet on the Skyline Drive. The trip ended 260 feet underground at Luray Caverns. As we moved from location to location, it dawned on me that no matter how distant or different each location was, God was present, active and consistent in His power, holiness, love, concern and authority.

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! Psalm 139:7

Inaugural Class of Community Bible Institute at Streamside

We are thankful that Streamside has been expanding the number of people we interact with for ministry purposes. Our traditional camper census grew by 20 campers this summer. Our SLT leadership program was at capacity. The day camp we host, Camp Restoration, continued to increase in numbers. Our retreat usage is up by 12%. More day events have been taking place, like the inaugural class of Community Bible Institute. Our housing is occupied by staff families, BCM missionaries, volunteers, College@Camp students and interns. With the birth of Clarissa to John and April Allen, we even have a newborn baby on-site.

Please pray that this trend will continue and we will be able to add a staff position to improve programming.

75 Anniversary

2017 is Streamside's 75th anniversary. Plan to join us at Streamside on May 13, 2017 or in Philadelphia in October 2017

We have added to our goal of increased monthly support in 2016. We would like to meet this need in full before Streamside's 75th Anniversary with 5 more supporters...

1 @ $50 a month
4 @ $25 a month

If you can be one of the final five, you can begin supporting our ministry at Streamside by giving on-line at https://bcm21697.thankyou4caring.org/streamside or by mail to BCM International, 201 Granite Run Drive, Suite 260, Lancaster, PA 17601. Checks should be made out to BCM International and designated to Craig Vincent support (#16191). One time year end gifts are helpful too!

It was an honor for me to be able to share the stage at The Frequency Conference in Philadelphia with John Perkins in October. Dr. Perkins' ministry has been both inspirational and formational in my understanding of both the needs of and the solutions for the urban context. I remember reading "Let Justice Roll Down" when as a college student God was turning my heart toward the needs of America's cities. Following this call has lead me down a difficult, sometimes painful, often misunderstood but mostly rewarding path through our years at The City Mission, Bethel Church and now Streamside Camp & Conference Center. Dr. Perkins' parting words to me after our brief encounter was to "keep doing what you're doing." I believe he recognized the rarity of a "white" led organization sponsoring a "black" led event and endorsed Streamside's scripturally consistent ministry of equipping young people to survive, grow and prosper wherever they are planted (Jeremiah 17: 7-8 and Psalm 1:2-3).

1. Continued growth of the ministry of Streamside
2. God's timing, direction, leading and provision for a programming addition to our staff team.
3. Five more new supporters in 2016
4. Randy and Karena as they prepare for married life
5. Reyna as she applies at colleges
6. Agenda and vision harmony with new BCM VP of USA ministries, Mark Hoyle
7. A stronger and larger pool of candidates from which to select our summer team members.
