Our Power of Strength!

I know I am not alone when I think back over my life and remember times I found myself saying, "how am I going to get through this?" Or, "Am I going to survive this?" Yet, here I am and here you are. We made it. Not only did we make it, but what we thought was going to break us, turned out to be a break through. Or maybe it was a breaking open of our hearts, so our soul could come through and shine it's light. That is what happened to me and continues to happen when life gets overwhelming or unrecognizable.

It is in these times that our Power of Strength and Resilience help us through. They allow us to keep on keeping on, using courage, tenacity and stability as our core habits. One of my favorite songs that carried me through the hardest time of my life is Psalm 23. This song/psalm reminds me, I am not alone. Some people use the Serenity Prayer. Both these pieces remind me, I am not alone and there is a place in me that is connected to all that is and all that is , is ready to help. When you think about it, you will realize you too have a stabilizing or anchoring "mantra". If not maybe the song below will help.

This month, the song I am including is one Kenneth Gartman will be singing this Sunday before my talk at Unity Center. It is titled, "I Didn't Know my Own Strength" sung by Whitney Houston. Take a moment to listen, and recall your strength, the strength that comes from the Spirit within. The strength you didn't know you had, but is always there.

Self-awareness is necessary for optimal balance and functioning in life. To be self-aware is to realize the dimensions of self and the states of those dimensions. Human beings are more than physical body; they also have spiritual and soul (psyche) dimensions which are equally if not more important than the body. Students will explore the dimensions of self by studying various systems and techniques for self- awareness. They will become more conscious of: their attitudes, beliefs and ways of being; symptoms of stress and imbalance; healthy responses to stress and imbalance; and how to integrate spiritual principles to maintain balance and honor all facets of their being.

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
• Identify and articulate current belief systems regarding key areas of life such as but not limited to health, finances, and relationship.
• Express personal values and integrity.
• Articulate and engage in areas of emotional literacy
• Increase effective communication skills to enhance relationships.
• Evaluate and personal stressors and formulate mediation strategies.
• Recognize obstacles to self-esteem and self-love and develop strategies for increasing consciousness in these areas.
• Develop awareness of cultural background and conditioning and how it impacts our worldview.

On-Going Services

Many companies are still not back to the office so On-Site Chair Massage is not the solution for stress reduction these days. Since so many employees are not going back to the office yet, we have found another way to serve many of our clients.

According to Brene Brown, human emotions researcher, professor and author, there are two irreducible things people get out of going to work, connection and a sense of belonging. Our virtual services address these plus stress reduction and self-care.

TLC has created virtual sessions of Self-care and Resilience AND chair massage for couples or housemates. The intention of these virtual sessions is to help participants get relief from the stresses of sitting at computers and other devices for hours at a time. Also, it creates a sense of connection when many people from the office are together in a virtual session.

Virtual Massage Sessions: $16 for Individuals and $60 for Partners/Couples.
