We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week! | Encouragement Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement. "I pray your week has been wonderful. Continued prayers for those that are having a tough week. I pray the Holy Spirit comforts you right now, even as you read this, and I ask God’s blessing flow in your lives. He hears our prayers." "My WORD for this week is “CONTROL.” What has “control” or what have we given “control” to? Let us think on that one for a minute…. Some things that we deal with, we certainly have no “control” over. But there are those that we do. Sometimes we let negative thinking take “control” and it seems like we spiral from one negative thought into the next. Sometimes I let my desire for more food take “control” and not make the right decisions on my choices. We sometimes let the smallest part of our body, the tongue, “control” our words instead of letting the Holy Spirit be our guide. We sometimes let pride take “control” and not ask for forgiveness. We like to take “control” of a situation when we do not need to. God has it all under His “control.” He does not need our help. We just need to pray about it and let Him take care of us. We need to trust the Holy Spirit enough to take “control.” Reminds me of when a baby is starting to walk – they do not want to let go of your hand and possibly lose “control.” We need to learn to let go. The Holy Spirit has us covered. I pray we can all say this week – Holy Spirit – take “control.” We are letting go of everything that may be holding us back." "So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you." ~ Romans 12:1-2 (MSG) | Joint Directories Brand new updated directories will be available starting this Sunday. It is always encouraging on these cold, winter days to think about the growing season! CSA information will be available before too long. This week began with working inside, organizing in the GG office, cleaning, moving donations to the warehouse, and doing puzzles. Wednesday's nicer weather took us outside to do some cleanup and to work on loading a dumpster with rubbish from the back greenhouses. We are working hard to get ready for Lamppost Farm to dismantle and move those greenhouses next month. Today we continued outside work and cleanup, plus we completed another satisfying puzzle.
