Twenty-nine million Americans have Diabetes. This number has doubled in the last ten years! November is a time to raise awareness of diabetes prevention and control and encourage individuals, families, and communities to help stop Diabetes.

What should I do if I have Diabetes?

In addition to visiting a primary care physician, EVERYONE with Diabetes should have their eyes teeth and feet checked at least one each year. These are the areas affected early if your blood sugars are high. Small problems in these areas become much larger issue QUICKLY and can frequently be avoided if caught early. Your Podiatrist, Optometrist, and Orthodontist will assess your risks and work with you and your PCP to prevent Diabetic complications.
