Parking

There is NO competitor parking at the Race HQ. Local companies and the rugby club (BS37 6GA) have kindly made their car parks available to us. Please follow the Race Car Park signs when approaching Chipping Sodbury. The rugby club is the nearest car park to the common for spectators.
If you park on the street please consider the local residents and park sensibly and legally

Headphones

Please don't wear them.

For your safety you need to be aware of your surroundings and to take directions from the marshals... not to mention you risk disqualification for wearing them

Litter: Respect the Environment & The Land

Please respect the land you are running across. Much of the course is only open to runners once a year so do not throw away gel wrappers, water bottles etc. please put in the bins provided on the course or give them to any marshal who will accept them with a smile

slog 2015 route

Route

The route is the same as last year 9.8 miles. The only road closure is from the start for approx. 400 metres. When running on the road please keep to the left and be aware of cars coming in the opposite direction.
Please follow the marshals directions

Course Moistness

As we write this, the course is fairly dry. But the Sheep Dip has 2ft of water. So think on. You will get muddy. Some of the mud may not be mud.

Coffee & Cake!

Everybody love cake! Cake, can I compare thee to a summers day! Kiss me cake! Coffee, tea and cake will be available for you to buy from 9 a.m. on race day

Physio

Thanks to Paul Tompkins Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic we'll have physios on site to ease away those aches and pains.

To smile sweetly as you moan about cramp. To explain whilst looking deeply into your beautiful eyes that runners do not have left & right knees, they have a good knee & a bad knee. To commiserate with you and tell you to rest, ice, compress and elevate.

Marshals

Please obey the marshals directions at all times. Not all appreciate muddy hugs please ask first!

Kit

The slog is not a race where you should try out new kit. No no no no no. You're going to get wet and dirty and muddy and mucky. So wear your old stuff.

Shoes

Running shoes with grip are best. Some runners like to tape theirs up with duct tape in a vain attempt to keep them on. You could try that. We find it's best to lace them well and hope.

Prize Giving

The Prize giving ceremony will be at 1pm at the Race HQ

But I’m not running

If you received this email even though you transferred your number on-line to someone else, then you probably forgot to change the email address. Please forward this email to the new runner. There is no need to contact Full on Sport or the Race Director.

A full list of runners can be found [here]
