Thursday, June 12th, 2014 - (New Orleans, LA) - As Diddy was called on to give a college commencement speech, Dee-1 was called on to give a commencement to a high school graduation. Dee kicks off his speech to let the Joseph S. Clark High School graduates know to "not let graduating high school be the only major accomplishment you have in life." Not only does he deliver a speech but he also preview a verse from an upcoming/ unreleased single. “Ms. Minnie” is the third chronicle to be released off of Dee-1’s upcoming Mixtape, Free Lunch and Sallie Mae. This track is a tribute to a middle school janitor that discovered a discouraged Dee-1, a recent college graduate, turned away from applying to be a teacher. Like an oracle in custodian clothing “Ms. Minnie” instructed Dee-1 on the path to being a teacher. The record is an uplifting reminder of how a little help from a kind stranger can make all the difference in the someone’s life for years to come.
