Garden & Nursery News

The Garden had a great first day last Sunday, learning about Gideon, discussing heroes, and playing some games. This week, we will remain in Worship to participate in Communion. As always, activity pages are on the table by the Sanctuary doors. Nursery kids (age 3 and younger) are invited to the Nursery for a Bible story time.

Back to School Potluck

Thank you for helping to make last week's luncheon a success!

Youth Group

Fall Schedule Starts Sunday!!!

We are looking forward to seeing all our youth on Sunday, from 6:00-7:30pm! (Snack: Colin Snyder) Parents have received an email with the YG dates. Paper copies of the schedule will go home on Sunday. The snack list is on the bulletin board. Please check it out and sign up to bring a snack. You don't have to be in YG to donate a snack to our hungry youth!
(Remember, we won't meet during the weeks of Fall Bible School. We hope everyone will be a part of that!)

Maze Craze Visit

Sunday, September 23
The Youth Group invites you to join us at the Maze Craze for our annual fall visit! The maze is located at 14070 State Route 165 in New Springfield. We will meet there at 4pm, assemble for a group photo, and then head into the maze. Younger siblings are welcome to stay and participate with parents. The more, the merrier! Tickets cost $10. Please sign up so we can have a rough estimate of participants.

Fall Bible School Starts This Month

What better time to visit the orchard than September & October?!? Mark your calendars for after Worship on Sunday, September 30, October 7, and October 14 as well as Saturday, October 20 at 3:00 (which will also be our Fall Fest). We hope everyone is ready to join us for this exciting new experience! In addition to having a Fall Bible School for the first time ever, we are also trying out a whole new format! This journey through the orchard is for the whole church family (and friends and extended family, too, of course!) to participate together...not just kids and volunteers. We will stay together as a group to hear the Bible story, play some games, do crafts, and more! Everyone is asked to bring their lunch for the three Sundays of FBS. We will eat a quick meal together right after Worship and then embark on our adventure from 12:30ish to 2:00ish. Please sign up on the bulletin board or call Jen L. to RSVP so we are sure to have enough supplies.

Coat & Clothing Giveaway

Saturday, October 13 from 10am-2pm
Donations are coming in but we could still use YOURS! All outerwear and clothing that you think someone else might enjoy will be accepted. We now have a barrel for donations in the Great Room. Tell your family and friends that they are welcome to donate or to come on October 13th and choose some items for their family. Let us know if you'd like to volunteer or bake cookies for this event. Sign up sheet on the bulletin board!

The Music Man

Sunday, October 28
Youth Group members are invited to bring their lunches and stay after Worship for an afternoon meeting. We will eat, have some activities, and then carpool to the special needs production of The Music Man at Main Street Theater in Columbiana. Can't stay after church? Meet us at the theater at 1:45pm. Tickets are $13. Please sign up by October 14 so we can order the tickets.

Our Coat & Clothing Giveaway is rapidly approaching! We are happy to accept all donations. Drop off clothing and outerwear any time, in the barrel in the Great Room, in the storage room by the Cafe, or up in the Green Room. Please help us spread the word. Let people know we are accepting donations and tell people who might need a little helping hand to come see us on October 13th!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
