At New Years many of us set intentions to create something new, “colorful", fun and meaningful in our life. With that sentiment in mind, I am featuring "Jazz" - an abstract work, outside my ‘usual’ that is full of color and with a story!

ART as Life <---> Life as Art

Much as each year we write a new ‘story', ask about any individual piece of art and you would learn that each piece has a story too. The story might be about the artist's life at the time or the techniques or subjects they were exploring. Almost always there is a story inside the painting as well.

The story of “Jazz" -

Some years back, I was asked by agents representing me at that time, to come up with concepts for a Jazz event.
"Jazz" was one of the concepts I worked on that I wasn’t thrilled with but that I did not give up on.

Can you can identify the keyboard and instruments, the deep space nebula, the musical notes and butterfly you see in the picture to the right in the final painting? Do you see the hidden or camoflaged story.....?

As in Art so in Life -

Don't all of us have 'hidden' stories that contribute to who we ARE?
