Happy Gratitude Week !
I hope this note finds you well after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Lately I've been spending quite a bit of time at my Creekside Cabin in the woods. Fall and winter are my favorite time of year here, when Yosemite is not overcrowded with tourists and Mother Nature transitions to an explosion of fall color. The quiet solitude gives a rare opportunity for reflection, particularly for the end of the year.
Every year I find myself feeling so much gratitude for the growth of my tiny little business Sol Haus Design. I'm especially grateful for my amazing clients, many of whom have become friends.
To be perfectly honest, the previous years I experienced growing pains for my tiny 'lil business. As my projects increased, I struggled with maintaining the quality of my services. The obvious solution was to hire additional support, but my time was consumed with management, and I felt the quality of my work was suffering. The idea of growing my business didn't align with my ethos, my strongly held belief that LESS IS MORE.
At the risk of sounding dramatic, I had an existential crisis in resisting growth for Sol Haus Design. Rather than following the traditional route of "Bigger is Better", I made the (difficult) decision to stay small and tiny - to keep only a handful of projects that resonates with me and my values.
For this, I'm sincerely grateful for you and to this community for the continued support throughout the years. I know I'm very fortunate to be selective with the projects I choose. Quite simply, THANK YOU.
Wishing you a cozy holiday season surrounded by the warmth of family and friends, and the joy that comes from appreciating the simple blessings in our lives.
Warm wishes + infinite gratitude,
