Good grief there was a glitch with the notices on Wednesday and many people didn't get the email to say block #4 of my "In the Summer Time" sew along was ready.

LUCKILY the amazing tech team solved it and we are back to normal.. whew!

HOW TO STRETCH your Quilt Budget

▪ Use Solids for part of your project My Charity quilt is the perfect example of how to stretch your quilting budget, use solids.
▪ Sales Another way is to shop the sales to stock up on basics for the colors you are missing. I am always looking for small print red, and right now I'm shopping for peach colors as I'm running low. *These 2 collections have gorgeous prints you might want to add at 25% off it's a great deal.
▪ RESORT the fabric you own - I resort my fabrics often by taking them ALL OUT of the bin they are in, and I refold them. For smaller pieces I put them into a ziplock that goes back in that color basket. I often find smaller fabric pieces shoved at the bottom of my bin. I find several pieces folded together and I find pieces I forgot I had.
▪ BONUS When your fabrics are folded nicely they take up less space and are easier to find. PLUS you know what you really need to buy!

Since so many of you are in my Facebook quilting community I'm going to run the sew along there. This is my basic skill building book where I use easy projects and step you through the basics of quilting.

This is a GREAT time to teach someone else to quilt or just sew with a friend. Some can be used for gifts, charity projects, or fund raising. The bonus is that Sewing with the group is motivating! We'll be starting with the runner on the top left. Now to decide on fabric for mine, as I'll be making each project again right along with you. Hey I have gifts to give too!
