Sensory Friendly Performances in Theatre for Young Audiences

Thursday, October 4, 11:30 AM CST - 12:30 PM CST

This webinar explores three different approaches to producing sensory-friendly performances for young people in professional TYA settings. Each panelist will explain their interest in creating performances that are sensory-friendly, and their process for bringing a sensory-friendly performance to fruition. Discussion questions include: How would a theatre communicate their desire to produce sensory-friendly work to the disability community and their larger community audience? How would sensory-friendly accommodations change the theatre going-experience? What assets do theatres have to produce sensory-friendly performance? What barriers prevent sensory-friendly performances?
