Stellar VBS Mission

Thank you for supporting our VBS mission project for 2023!
Together we raised $252 to go to The Brightside Project, as they strive to equip and empower children to reach their full potential. We are so thankful to know that all those donations will help them show Columbiana County children that, even in the darkest of times, there is a Brightside! Thanks for helping us *Shine Jesus' Light*!!

Family Fun Night

Thanks to all who helped celebrate VBS on Friday night! We had a great time together,
showing families what the week meant and enjoying fun treats outside.

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"I pray God’s blessings have been flowing in your lives this week. The weather has been fabulous here in Ohio – Summer at its best. I have three volunteer sunflowers that came up in my garden this year, right next to the cucumbers that we have climbing a fence. Well, not to be outdone – the sunflowers are around 5ft high now and the cucumbers are following suit. They are at least that tall if not higher. Our cucumbers this year are going well. God’s wonderful ways He takes care of us even through gardening is simply amazing. We are so blessed!"

"My WORD for this week is “BUILT.” Usually used to describe something like a building, bridge, road, house – etc. I want to know what we are “built” with? Reminds me of the fable of the three little pigs. When the big bad wolf came to each one’s house and huffed and puffed – what happened? You all know the story. Are our lives “built” on a firm foundation? When life happens and we all know it does – how do we act/react to it? Do we run away or retreat or do we face it head on with the Holy Spirit on our side? Do we stand for truth? Or do we just give in to the doubts and fears of not knowing what will come? I pray we all will grab hold of ALL THE PROMISES we have given to us in God’s Word and stand strong. Keep the faith, hold onto hope, never give up, keep pressing on towards our prize, which is our heavenly home with Jesus. Oh, what is in store for us? It is beyond anything we can ever imagine. If we need to reinforce our “built” with encouragement from others – reach out to one another with love. We are all here to admonish and “build” each other up. We are all in this together, with the Holy Spirit at the helm. Let us keep pressing on!"

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” ~ Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV)

We ended last week with a pizza & cupcake picnic outside. We were celebrating our intern Liam and client Tori. Friday marked Tori's 10 year anniversary of working at GG! Congratulations, Tori, we are so glad you are part of the GG family! Friday was also Liam's last day with us for this summer and we are sure going to miss him! We look forward to having Liam return to GG next summer!

Monday and Tuesday had us focused on weeding. There really is always plenty of weeding to do on a farm or in a garden. You are abslutely invited to join us for weeding fun whenever you have time. And, despite the fact that weeding can be tedious, we always do have fun, laugh a lot, and even play music for everyone to enjoy. Along with the weeding, we also got more planting done, getting new rounds of beets, greens, and more going.

Yesterday we spent much of the day in the courtyard, getting it ready for the church to use on Sunday. We weeded and weed whacked, mowed, swept and power washed, and moved chairs and canopies to the hallway. We made sure to take plenty of air conditioning and water breaks. We also had a visit from our friend Tanner and his dad. They brought a ton of donations for the October Giveaway and Tanner stayed for a while to hang out. We love visitors!

Today is CSA day, our busiest day of the week. We are excited to have McMaster Farms corn as part of the shares. We think they have the best sweet corn around! Some of our crew has been busy making fresh basil pesto with our own basil. It sure smells good around here!

Thanks to All Who Have Started Bringing Compost Items! Keep 'em Coming!

Uganda Mission Trip Update

Words from Marilee:
"Our final Sunday in Masaka was spectacular. We got to worship, praise God and share with our beloved brothers and sisters in Uganda. What a blessing all of them have been to us. They welcomed us with open arms and loved us mightily. We got to see Olivia who we had just visited in prison days before, released from prison and bring her husband with her to church. They both gave their hearts to the Lord. What a mighty, powerful God we serve. Praise His mighty name. Yet we had to say goodbye for now which made us sad. But we will see them again.

Thank you for your prayers!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

you were doing it to me.
