UPCOMING AT CG

July Speakers

July 28 - Adam Shank - Communion Sunday

Spaghetti Sauce Canning Class

Saturday, August 24, 10am-2pm (or until we're done)
Sign up on the bulletin board to join us for this tomato extravaganza with Rachel Vignon. She is willing to share her family recipe and teach us all how to make a truly delicious spaghetti sauce. Jars will be provided. There will be a small fee to cover ingredients. (Fee - around $5 or less - to be determined when we have a total count of participants.) The ending time of 2pm is really just a guess. We could be done much faster or a little later...depending on our kitchen skills and number of participants. But, no matter how long it takes, you won't regret this "summer school" opportunity!

NEWS & EVENTS

Summer at GG

The Mission Group from Pittsburgh's Community Presbyterian Church of Ben Avon joined us Monday. They jumped right in and got some very much needed tree clean-up/wood chopping done. They also painted a rock to leave as a memory in our garden. It is such a pleasure to have the opportunity to meet and work with folks from other churches!

On Tuesday, Common Ground's Youth Group returned for another day of service with us. They worked with Rachel to repair the Bloomin' Butterfly Garden sign, painted birdhouse gourds, and created a piece of rock art for our garden. We appreciate their willingness to serve!

Tuesday's cooking project with Sue was an amazing taco bar that even included fresh corn & bean salad. This meal was a definite hit with all of us at GG as well as the CG youth. Thanks, Sue, for leading our kitchen crew into so many culinary masterpieces!

The rest of the week is being filled up by jam making, as we prep for the Fest this weekend, cleaning, and farm duties. There is always plenty to do to get ready for CSA day! Then, next week will start off with a mission group from Uniontown, PA's Trinity UPC. If you have a day where you'd like to stop by and lend a hand, we'd love to have you!

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.

Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
