Spend your lunch hour with us!

Since its launch last September, during the People's Climate March, the YOU ARE HERE map has been on the road, in multiple forums statewide, laying out the reality of fracking in New York: That despite a "ban," we're being fracked in every way BUT the drilling.

Dozens of new and expanded pipelines, compressor stations, power plants, storage and service facilities are proposed, under construction or already in operation. There are very few of us who can look at this map and NOT find at least one of these facilities near where we or a loved one lives, works, or goes to school.

Today, please join us for an online demonstration of the YOU ARE HERE map, and then let us know if you'd like to host a live demonstration in your community.

This is the place.

This map was created in collaboration with our grassroots allies in upstate New York. It does more than just show where the harms are, it connects you to the local groups who are fighting them. Our statewide collaboration also brings to life these "points on a map," with our photo series shot in the place where each map pin is. Each of the 137 points on the map represents a real place, real people, dealing with a real and imminent danger.

MILLENNIUM

Clare Donohue will present a live, online demonstration of our YOU ARE HERE shale gas infrastructure map, that will show you how to use this invaluable tool to locate pipelines, compressor stations and other projects near you or a loved one.

Other supercool activist tools that will be demonstrated are the new mobile app by Fractracker (locate wells where you stand nationwide) and a violations reporting service called Fileroom, by Public Herald.
