Greetings from the beautiful town of Trnava in Slovakia.

I'm here helping the team that is working towards the launch of our EU operation. It's called: AWGifts.sk
Tomas and Bryant from UK HQ are here, our IT wizard Raul from KL, Malaysia is here. Our young team fresh from training in the UK are here straining at the leash itching to get going.
Brexit made us do it. We sell lots of stuff in Europe and there is a big worry that if we have to charge VAT or have paperwork to do, that sales will dry up.. So it was essential to get on with it. Here we are well ahead of the curve making it happen.

Since China, I have travelled from Yiwu to Beijing to Amsterdam to Manchester - spent a few days with the guys at HQ, and then to Bratislava and to Trnava.

So it's all go (and even though it's very hot) and we are eating frogs one by one..
We are in that limbo phase that all new businesses go through, you must identify, every business-person has that frustrating, exciting, slightly worrying, busy but not yet trading stage.. to get through.
You are pulling all the pieces together one by one, but until the last piece drops into place you can't actually make a sale.

I remember, in another life.. many years ago. I ran a business - retail business, we opened new shops on average every two weeks. We had two shop opening teams, who recruited staff, trained them ordered the stock.. a shopfitting company (we had two) could make a shop inside a month so we cranked out new shops at this furious pace. It was great. But every time we opened a new shop, I would have this slightly hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach.. what if no-one came? What if we opened up and no customers actually came, what if they didn't love us? It was always made worse by the local doom mongers - every town had them from Aberdeen to St Austell - "This towns different" they would say, "people don't like new things here".
Of course we opened, ran our marketing and offers.. and they came. Build it and they will come, people do like new things actually and if you offer a useful service - they will love you.

Now we are in that moment in time between getting everything together and opening the door. It's a lot more complicated these days - all the online things have to work, all the real world stock has to arrive from different parts of the world, all warehouse locations set up and everything connected together. Shipping companies, credit card companies, boxes, bubble-wrap, forklift training, terms & conditions, blar blar blar.. so many details and things to do.
So we have painted two walls of the office with blackboard paint. On the walls, we have this huge list of all the things to be done..
Blackboards are great in offices, so low tech.. but visual, everyone can see the plan.. it's up there open and happening.

Eat that damn frog. Let's be clear not real frogs, not French people, I'm not actually asking you to eat anything that will give you indigestion..
But.. if you want to get stuff done and change your world, then eat frogs.
