Narrows West Lodge 1st Annual Christmas Bazaar!

On Sunday December 6th, Narrows West Lodge hosted the 1st Annual Lake Manitoba Narrows Christmas Bazaar. We set up the dining room to have a small eating section near the baby grand piano and then set up tables to accommodate a dozen vendors. It was an intimate event with the lights lit on the trees, the carols playing throughout and it was a lot of fun.

We had a great turn out as the doors opened, and the vendors were busy with interested shoppers while our eating area was packed with hungry customers that had found their special holiday treats. It slowed down after lunch but was a great first start to an annual event. We had a lot of positive feedback from the vendors and the guests of the event and already have half our tables for next year booked! On top of having a great day at the Narrows, we collected three large containers of food and one large bag of kids clothes for the Ste. Rose Food Bank that I was happy to drop off yesterday while in town. It was a wonderful day and we thank you for joining us.

Living and Working at the Lake: One step closer to our dream!

by Revy Rodriguez.
Since I started working for the Narrows West Team back in 2009, it has always been my husband's and my dream to move the entire family to the Narrows full time. With Chad having to divide his duties to spend half his time in the city and the other half here, he needed someone to help at the Narrows West Winnipeg office. So my husband and I moved to Winnipeg; he to focus on a job at the 10 Spa and I to run the office in the city. For years we lived and worked in Winnipeg, building a home and starting a young family but our dream was to always move back to the Narrows, build our dream home here on our Ranch Estates property and live and work at the place we love the most. Over the past year the demands on my job were expanded over both locations and I made weekly two-day trips to the Narrows for various meetings. Much like Chad I found myself at both locations half the time. It was the spring of this year when we discussed the potential for me and my family to move to the Narrows full time.

Discussions turned to clear goals and my husband received a job with Narrows West in July of 2015 and moved out here immediately. I stayed in the city with the kids until end of summer to give time to make arrangements for both the Winnipeg office and our home. However, after August long weekend, the whole crew moved to the Narrows to join my husband. We enrolled the kids in Ste. Rose School, met the bus driver and immediately felt a part of the community.

In terms of the office, we had to decide if we needed that size of office now that I was living at the Narrows. I have been going back and forth again this time staying a few days in the city but we have decided that at the moment this office just doesn't fit our needs anymore. We will be looking for another location that will better suit us in the future but at the moment all calls can be directed to the office at the lodge, 204-768-2749. I have changed my email signature and highlighted the lodge number with each newsletter I have sent since August 1, 2015, but as many people know the Winnipeg office number I wish to just make it clear that number is no longer where I can be reached. If you have any questions, I can be reached here at the lodge Monday - Friday from 8am to 4 pm or by email at revy@narrowswest.com. Thanks again for all the warm wishes and support that has being given to our family during this transition.
