Only student-athletes who are registered for Race #3 are allowed to pre-ride. Number plates must be affixed to student-athletes bikes in order to pre-ride the course.

Join the Race Crew and volunteer your time at a race this year. Helping with scoring, handing out water, course marshal and the popular "sweep" position - all are important and we need 50-60 people to make these races work.
Suggestion: If your son or daughter is racing, volunteer to help when your child is not racing. Be a part of the excitement and still be able to watch your son or daughter race!
How to Sign Up:
1. Go to the Volunteer Page on the wisconsinmtb.org site.
2. Review the positions available.
3. Click on the VolunteerSpot Image.
4. You will be taken to a different website where you can sign up to volunteer!
Thank you - we appreciate your support!

TAKE THE PLEDGE
I pledge to promote good sportsmanship in youth sports.
To honor the rules of the game at all times.
To respect officials, umpires and referees understanding that they are doing their best.
To remember that my actions on the sidelines and in the stands reflect my commitment to teaching my kids what it means to be a good sport.
To remind kids that part of being a teammate is supporting each other no matter the outcome.
To respect the opposing team, their coaches and fans, knowing that without opponents there would be no competition.
To encourage kids, win or lose, so that youth sports stays fun, positive and full of the life lessons I hope they gain from playing sports.
I pledge to do my part to promote sportsmanship, ensuring that every play is a positive one.
If you agree with this pledge and you want to help the WI League earn $2,500! Go to this website and sign the pledge! Do it today - only 17 days left!

PASSING/BEING PASSED
DIFFERENT CATEGORY RACERS
Passer - identify yourself as not in their category and ask politely to pass. Remember to thank and encourage the rider you are passing.
Rider being Passed - if you are being passed by someone who identifies themselves as not in your field, you don't need to stop, but move over to and let them know "I'm moving right" or "I'm moving left". It's just good sportsmanship to let a rider not in your field pass.
IT'S NEVER OK:
It's never ok to intentionally block, hit, elbow, shove, lean, or prevent the rider behind you from passing - no matter what category. See NICA Rule 6.18 below.
NICA'S RULES REGARDING PASSING:
6.15 PASSING SLOWER STUDENT-ATHLETES
When passing on the race-course, do so respectfully and only when it is as possible to do safely and without contact. Actions that compromise the safety of other student-athletes will not be tolerated. Call out when passing slower racers. “Tracking left” indicates you will be passing on their left, “tracking right” indicates you will be passing on their right. [ORANGE LEVEL CONSEQUENCES]
6.16 BIKE PUSHERS MUST YIELD
Racers riding bicycles have the right of way over racers pushing bicycles. When practical, racers pushing shall stay on the least rideable portion of the trail when being passed. A racer pushing or carrying his/her bicycle can overtake a racer riding their bicycle provided they do not interfere with the student-athlete's progress. [ORANGE LEVEL CONSEQUENCES]
6.17 LAPPED STUDENT-ATHLETES MUST YIELD
Lapped student-athletes must yield to overtaking student-athletes. Student-athletes shall voice the command “Tracking left” or “Tracking right” when overtaking another. Student-athletes being passed must move over as quickly, efficiently and as safely as possible.
6.18 LEADER OWNS THE TRAIL BUT CANNOT BLOCK
In the event two student-athletes are vying for position, the leading student-athlete does not have to yield his/her position to the challenging student-athlete. However, a student-athlete may not bodily interfere with the intent to impede another student-athlete's progress. Traditional rules of racing apply: the leading student-athlete owns the trail.
