Trestle is one of the leading providers of school workshops, teacher training and participation programmes in the country. We run mask and physical theatre workshops and residencies nationally and internationally. All workshops are available either in your school/organisation or at Trestle Arts Base, in St Albans.

INSET Training for Teachers & Practitioners

Mask Theatre
Spring Dates: Monday 19 March, 9.30am – 4pm
Autumn Dates: Monday 15 October, 10am – 4pm

This fun, accessible workshop will help strengthen your practice of using Trestle full masks and half masks as a tool for both theatre and social development. The work consists of experiencing exercises and learning teaching techniques to develop physical awareness, mask performance and creative devising.

Advanced and Intermediate Mask
Spring Dates: Tuesday 20 March, 10.30am – 5pm
Autumn Dates: Tuesday 16 October, 10am – 4pm

This is a follow up workshop for anyone that has participated in our basic mask training or worked extensively with Trestle Basic Mask sets. This work will focus on our advanced and intermediate mask sets extending your devising and teaching techniques from the previous training and supporting you to challenge yourself and students.

Physical Theatre
Spring Dates: Wednesday 21 March, 10.30am – 5pm
Autumn Dates: Wednesday 17 October, 10am – 4pm

This practical workshop will teach you to work imaginatively with storytelling, using body, voice and mind to devise and create dynamic theatre. Participants will discover new ways of creating and teaching physical languages with which to make rich visual and physical performance, covering a range of styles and practitioners. Trestle School of Drama is fully inclusive and from September 2017 will run weekly sessions for ages 4-21 years.
