We will meet at the mainland boat dock, located at 705 Route 135 at 9:30 am each day to be transported to the island, about a half mile from shore. We will have access to a beautiful yurt, hiking trails, compost bathrooms and fantastic views. Loons and eagles will be surely be present throughout the week. We will be transported back to the boat dock at 4:00 pm each day. This Spirit Camp is $200 if paid by March 31st, $225 as of April 1st. We have included the daily round trip transportation fees to the island in the tuition.

The island, which has non-profit status, is a learning laboratory for the naturally curious. Students from Monmouth Schools regularly participate in programs there. Introducing Jean Brown

DJI's New Marketing Director

I am thrilled to announce that Jean Brown is DJI's new part-time Marketing Director. Jean has 20 years of marketing experience, and has recently moved to Maine from Boston. She is looking at every aspect of my business, from my website and social media activity, to how I advertise, how the public perceives me, the words I use to describe my work, how I present myself in workshops or classes, the products I'm carrying, etc. There isn't a part of my business that she hasn't asked about. With Jean on my team, I have no doubt Spirit Camp and the Dancing Jaguar will have a national presence in a matter of time.

If you are a business owner, I encourage you to have a consultation with Jean so you can learn how she can help you and your business grow to whatever your vision for your company is. She's amazing! She can be reached at jeanbrown@gmail.com.

Shamanic Journeying With Children

Birgit Baader is a shamanic practitioner, writer and filmmaker from New Zealand who has done amazing work with children. I encourage you to take a moment to read an article she wrote about shamanic journeying with children.

"I have spent a long time with shamans in Montana and in Usbekistan exploring their way of playing with our worldly and outerworldly things. And I learned some powerful ways to connect to our inner wisdom. Later on, while working with the German Ministry of Education on alternative learning concepts I wanted to play around with visualisation and fantasy journeys and started to use guided imagery books. I also researched and experimented a lot with different meditation techniques like TM and others. I found that a lot of the guided imageries I worked with send the mind on a journey and make you think and reflect. That was not what I was looking for." continued.
