Hello Lads & Lassies!

Where has the year gone? Is Thanksgiving really next week? Did I really just have another birthday?

This year has flown by! But what a busy year it has been. To date, I've written five novellas and one novel and I'm working on number 7.

One of those novellas will be released in 8 days as part of the Highland Wishes Anthology. More on that in this newsletter.

Our kitchen cabinets have been installed and they're beautiful! I thought that day would never arrive. Appliances are here and they're awesome. The countertop people will be here Thursday to measure for the countertops. It's all happening so fast. As soon as Mr. Highlander is done with the kitchen, he'll move on to my office. I'm really looking forward to that!

Lots of news about new books and upcoming releases in this issue. As well as a sneak peek at 2016. I'm also doing a give away.

Hugs,
Suzan

Highland Wishes

Join USA TODAY BESTSELLING authors Glynnis Campbell, Suzan Tisdale, and Kathryn Le Veque, and BESTSELLING authors Hildie McQueen and Emma Prince for four holiday-inspired never before published tales that are sure to warm your hearts this holiday season. Pre-order is available now and we will be live on November 20, 2015.

Deep in the Scottish Highlands stood a well, left behind by the Northmen who had built a longhouse upon the site. The longhouse eventually crumbled, the Norse died off, but the well remained. The well was built in the trees, high above the land, and built in dark gray stone that is native to the area. Upon the stones of the well were carved these words:

May your journey be quiet and your days of joy long. May your deeds remain strong for Odin. May your love stay true to your noble heart.

This well, so alone upon the hill, soon became the stuff of legends, It was said that a young Northman fell in love with a local Taevali maiden. Her parents forbid her to see him so, in desperation, she stole away on a cold December night with the intention of marrying her Norse lover in secret. They were followed by her parents but rather than be separated, the desperate lovers ran to the longhouse and hid in the well. There was a terrible storm that night and the run off from the mountains that kept the well supplied with water soon overflowed, dooming the lovers on what would be the Christian holiday of Christmas.

Now, their spirits wander the trees where the well is, where they met their deaths, together in spirit as they could not be together in life. It is said that if lovers make a wish upon the well during this holiday time, the spirit of the young Northman and his lovely maiden will grant the lovers one wish for their marital happiness, one wish that will bind them together for eternity.

The Moirra's Heart Series

On November 17, 2015, I released my Moirra's Heart Series to iBooks, Nook & Kobo.

This is a two book series. The first book, Stealing Moirra's Heart, was originally released last year as part of the Guardians of Chridhe Anthology. That collection won the InD'Tale Magazine 2015 RONE award for Best Anthology. Until last week, it was exclusive to Amazon. I'm very happy to make it and Saving Moirra's Heart available on all major retail stores.

Stealing Moirra's Heart:
Thrice widowed Moirra Dundotter needs a husband. With a reputation for losing husbands, the men of Glenkirby are not exactly lining up. Just as she is ready to give up, Moirra happens upon a very handsome man--locked in the village pillory.

Desperate to be free of the pillory, the stranger reluctantly agrees to handfast with Moirra, but refuses to tell her his real name -- or much else about his past. He’ll stay only long enough to help her harvest crops in the fall. Two months. And not one day longer.

Fate oft has far different plans.

Saving Moirra's Heart:
The story of Moirra’s Heart concludes with Saving Moirra’s Heart.

After losing everything they own in a fire, Alysander and Moirra’s plans to begin anew are torn asunder when Moirra is arrested for the murder of her last husband.

Moirra is determined to protect her family at all costs. Even if it means hanging for a crime she did not commit. Alysander is just as determined to have her set free, even if he has to bargain with the devil to do it.

Will Alysander be able to prove Moirra’s innocence or will she hang?

Arriving in December

Isle of the Blessed

Isle of the Blessed was originally released in June, 2015 as a short novella, as part of the With Dreams Only Of You-Legend of the Theodosia Sword anthology.
That anthology made the USA Today Bestsellers List and included books from Kathryn Le Veque, Cynthia Wright, Eliza Knight, Christi Caldwell, and Eva Devon.

The original version of Isle of the Blessed had nine chapters. In this new release, you will find bonus content which includes Laurin and Albert’s story. Much more intrigue and mystery!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.

"Trust is the most important thing between husband and wife. If you cannot trust your husband with your heart, your life, or your love, nothing else matters … only give the sword to your husband if you can trust him with all these things."

As a child, Josephine McAdams had dutifully memorized her mother’s words even if she didn’t quite understand what they meant. For years, Josephine kept the secrets handed down through generations of DeReyne women. Now that her betrothed of more than four years has finally come for her, she must decide if he is not only worthy of her heart, but also of the ancient sword. Will Graeme MacAulay prove worthy or will Josephine have to keep the sword hidden for another generation?

As for Laurin and Albert. Will Laurin be able to overcome years of abuse and entrust her heart to Albert, the gentle giant?

Available for pre-order at Amazon, iBooks, Nook & Kobo. We go live on December 8, 2015.

A Sneak Peek at 2016...

What's in store for 2016?

2015 was the year of the novella for me. It was completely unintentional but that was how everything fell into place this year. Opportunities that were simply too good to pass up. One of the novella's I wrote this year, The Thief's Daughter, (part of the Highland Wishes Anthology) turned out to be the introduction of sorts to an entire new series. More on that later.

2016 will be the return to big books.

Yes, you read that correctly. All big books for next year, save for one novella I will be writing for another anthology.

Here is a glimpse at what I have planned.

1. We'll be returning to those characters you all fell in love with in Frederick's Queen with a new series titled The Mackintoshes and McLarens. I have at least two books planned (possibly three) in that series and yes, one of them will be Ian's Rose.
2. The Thief's Daughter. This is the novella that I wrote for the Highland Wishes Anthology that goes live November 20th. In that story, I've introduced new characters and new clans. Somehow, this little story has spawned a new series that I'm titling The MacAllens and Randalls. Next year, when I release The Thief's Daughter as a single, I will add bonus content to it and use it to launch this three book series.
3. A Return to Clan MacDougall. I'm super excited about this new series! It will have at least two books, possibly three. I'm still working on titles, but I do have the stories plotted out. We'll go back to some of our favorite characters, Duncan and Aishlinn, Angus and Isobel, and Nial and Bree. I'll also be introducing new characters.

I don't know if I'll be able to finish and release all 6 - 9 books in 2016 but I promise to release at the very least, the first book from each new series.

If you're excited about 2016, visit my FaceBook Author page and leave a comment in the post titled "2016 Releases" telling me what you're looking forward to most about my upcoming books. I'm going to give away three ebooks and three audio books (mine of course) to winners chosen at random from the comments sections.
