True Love

Who says Valentine’s Day is just for lovers? Valentine’s Day is also a perfect time to celebrate friendship and the true act of love- giving without expectation.

Giving without expectation- that's what you do every time you make a pillowcase, wash and iron, sew with patients at the hospital or donate much needed funds for fabric or PTSD resources. Through your work, a mom sees her child smile and knows that someone she may never meet cares. That is truly love.

Showing compassion is what our families really need and and is what gives them hope, and the strength to face the ups and downs of a childhood illness.

So on February 14th forget about the flowers and the chocolate (well, maybe not the chocolate). Begin the day with an act of kindness. Open your hearts and give of your time, talent, your love or anything special that is unique to you. Say hello to someone on the street, take a friend to lunch or buy a cup of coffee for the stranger in line behind you. Make a pillowcase or two, share our mission with your friends or donate to keep the love flowing. What better way to spend the day of love?
