5TH ANNNUAL COAT & CLOTHING (& MORE!) GIVEAWAY

Youth Service Evening ~ THIS Thursday, 6pm

A little bird has let us know that our youth are feeling a bit sad about being left out of giveaway prep. Since 2017, these awesome young people have been involved with this important ministry. They have sorted and carried and set up...and had fun! So, because listening to the next generation of church family members is extremely important, and because we admire and appreciate volunteer spirit, this Thursday evening (October 14) will be a Youth Service Evening up in the warehouse. The doors will be opened up by 6:00pm and we will sort and organize until 7:30/8:00pm. Ending time depends on how it's going and when Praise Band practice ends. So, if you're in 5th Grade and up, you are warmly invited to pitch in and enjoy the fun and good feelings that volunteering brings!

Youth ~ We hope to see you on the evening of the 14th & the morning of the 16th!

Wondering How YOU Can Help?

1. SPREAD THE WORD! Share on social media, talk to your neighbors, email your friends...let everyone know that this is a resource if they need coats, clothes, miscellaneous items, and even some food. (There will be a limited, random assortment of food items available.)
2. Show up on the 16th. Doors open at 10am, volunteers can arrive a bit earlier or come anytime throughout the event, whenever they are available to help.
3. Stop in during the week, between 9:30am-2pm to work in the warehouse.
4. Let your youth know about Thursday evening and drop them off/send them over.
5. Donate good, clean, useable items that may be a blessing to someone else.

Volunteering at the Giveaway

▪ Volunteers will be needed outside to help direct people to the warehouse. There is some parking near and around warehouse, but some attendees will need to park down in the lot and walk. (Volunteers are asked to park in the lot and walk up, unless they have need of the handicapped spot that is available at the front of warehouse or another close spot for mobility reasons.)
▪ A volunteer will be needed upstairs in the Activity Room, so guests can access the upstairs bathrooms, if needed.
▪ Volunteers will be needed to be stationed at the doors at each end of the warehouse to remind people that masks must be worn to enter. We will have disposable masks available at each door. Masks are required for volunteers and guests when inside the warehouse and building.
▪ Volunteers will be needed inside the warehouse to help with reorganizing if areas get messy, to assist people, and to answer questions.
▪ Volunteers will be needed to help carry selections, sometimes while a guest is shopping as well as out to cars.
▪ We are thrilled to have volunteers of all ages, young, older, and in-between - all welcome and gratefully appreciated!

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Wet Wall Work Day Update
Great big thanks from GG and CGCC for our dedicated volunteers who came to work on the wet wall project today! You are appreciated even more than we can express. Whether a task has been large or small, you have always given it your all! We managed today to get the old wall removed and the pieces cleaned. (Dr. Pat can certainly wield a power washer! Perhaps his experience with surgery gave him that skill?) Sadly, we determined we need additional hands and eyes to get the new equipment installed. So, a brand new, shiny wet wall will not be in place for tomorrow's outdoor worship. We will be calling in outside help so this task can be completed before the snow flies...and we all know that in Ohio, that could be anytime! (Sorry, Miss Rachel. We know you are opposed to using that word already!)
