Bicycle educators needed!

League Cycling Instructor Certification Seminar: July 14-16!

This 3-day training is for experienced cyclists that want to make a difference in our community by teaching others about biking safely on O‘ahu's roadways. Through the implementation of clear communication and trusted teaching techniques by the League of American Bicyclists, you will acquire the skills to instruct inexperienced riders to navigate through urban traffic settings with confidence. Seminar attendees will come away with skills to further their personal and professional lives but the ability to teach HBL’s cycling classes (and essentially get paid for biking in Hawai‘i!).

Learn more about how you can make a lasting impact on Hawai‘i’s biking future at: HBL.org/LCIseminar2023

Registration closes 7/06/23.

Kaua‘i Path

"Permits issued for Kaua‘i’s Ke Ala Hele Makalae | Building a world-class bike path is no simple endeavor. The County of Kaua‘i’s been developing Ke Ala Hele Makalae, an ambitious coastal path system, for the past thirty years. A significant milestone was just attained. The County of Kaua‘i Planning Commission voted unanimously on June 27, 2023 to approve the permits needed for a new section of Kauai’s coastal shared-use path. When built, this approximately five mile segment of path will follow the coast on Kaua‘i’s East Side makai of the Lihu‘e Airport from Ahukini Pier and beyond the Ninini Point Lighthouse. Attaining this milestone clears the way for the County of Kaua‘i’s Department of Public Works to advance the project to the next hurdle: securing a Conservation District Use Permit from the State of Hawai’i’s Office of Conservation & Coastal Lands. Updates on the progress can be found at KauaiPath.org."
