Happy Weekend to you!

We just had a fresh snowfall, making it oh so pretty again here in Minnesota. And we're off to a weekend basketball tourney for our 10 year-old. Tessa's team has had a ton of fun this season, but the wins have been few. So a win (or two?!) this weekend would sure be nice!

A couple of My Favorite Things this week... this cookbook (link HERE) was just released this past week. And can I just say how beautiful it is?! If you've been to Alaska, or are dreaming of visiting Alaska, or just plain appreciate gorgeous scenery, I beg you to take a look. (The recipes look wonderful, too - I can't wait to try a few!) I mentioned this game (link HERE) a couple weeks ago, saying that I had bought it for our girls for Valentine's Day. And I just have to mention how well it's gone over. It gets played nearly every day!

Thank you so much for joining me here each week, for reading the blog, and for following along on social media. I am so grateful for your company!

Have a great weekend!
-Brenda

This Chicken Cheesesteak Baked Ziti is a fun twist on the classic cheesesteak sandwich, with pasta, tender and flavorful chicken, and the most awesome provolone sauce. My whole family loves it!

CRUMBS: What We Made This Week

I am a huge fan of kombucha. But, dang, it gets spendy if I want to drink it every day!

A friend of mine has been making her own, and shared her technique with me. If you're curious to make your own, too, check out Laurie's Instagram post - you'll find her directions in the comments below her photo.

Our family loves the Cara Cara Orange - it's our favorite fresh snack this time of year. And I like to steal a couple away to make Cara Cara Margaritas when they're in season. This was the perfect margarita to celebrate National Margarita Day this past week!

You can find my recipe right here.

I was looking for simplicity when baking up a batch of chocolate chip cookies to take along to this weekend's basketball tournament. The original Nestle Toll House recipe is what I went with...with changes noted below.

Here's the recipe I used, minus the nuts, plus 1/4 cup of flour, minus 1/2 teaspoon of salt in the cookie, plus flaky sea salt on top of the cookie.

I think that everyone should try making homemade pudding at least once in their lifetime. And you should start with this recipe for Homemade Chocolate Pudding Cups With Mint Grasshopper Cream!

I have very vivid – and numerous – memories of finding Mom digging in the big chest freezer on the farm, looking for the container that held her stash of Chocolate Mint Brownies. Yes, this recipe is all Mom.

This Breakfast Egg Salad with Bacon is creamy and flavorful, and just the thing to get your day started off on the right foot.
