This is the Week of Classes in MD and VA

As I mentioned in my last email, Fall is the Season of Fiber Festivals, and I wanted to remind you about some of them coming up this week, and a little later.

Saturday in Maryland

Saturday morning I return to Woolwinders for one of my favorite classes: Ooops: Fixing Knitting Mistakes. This is one of my most popular classes, and with good reason! Some things students have had to say about this class:

"Loved it, Jennifer."

"Fantastic class - [I] am so happy to have the skills to repair my mistakes! This class exceeded my expectations... I feel so much more confident!"

"Jennifer made us feel like we could ask her anything, not even about fixing mistakes! I learned so much more than was in the class description."

Devil at Crossroads - 4 medium2

I've been invited to speak at the Creative Knitters Guild on October 4th. I'll be speaking on a subject near and dear to my heart: Socks! The title of the talk is All You Need to Know About Socks - and will talk about the choices you can make when approaching a pair of socks. What type of yarn should you use? What's reinforcing yarn? Top-down? Toe-up? After you've spent so much time on them, how can you make sure they last?

The best part about this talk? It's open to the public. You don't have to be a member to attend! The talk is from 1:30-3 pm at the Kensington Library (4201 Knowles Ave, Kensington, MD).

Fall Fiber Festival of Montpelier

On Sunday, October 5th, I'll be teaching my favorite Hairpin Lace Crochet Workshop at the Montpelier Fall Fiber Festival and Sheepdog Trials. I'm so looking forward to teaching here!

What students have had to say about Hairpin:

"Really enjoyed the content but also the way Jennifer interacted with the class in a fun, flexible way. Felt like I could ask her anything."

More details at the website.

Later in the Fall

Heels Heels and More Heels

As a reminder, I'm also teaching at Rhinebeck in October! Not going yourself? Did you know that at the bottom of this email, you can forward it to a friend? If you've taken a great class from me, and you know someone in the New England area that would benefit from my teaching, forward this email onto them!

Even though I've moved to Ashland, VA, I'm still coming to teach up in the Metro DC area. Upcoming Teaching Events include:

November 2nd Finishing Essentials at Fibre Space
November 2nd Steeking Techniques at Fibre Space
And a couple of other teaching events whose details are still being ironed out.

So Stay Tuned!
