Tonya Moru: A Life Well Lived

It is with deep sadness that we share our beloved Executive Director, Tonya Muro, who passed away suddenly on March 5, 2018. As our community mourns this loss, we’d like to take time to reflect on her amazing impact at iEARN and throughout the global education community. We are sharing some ways to pay tribute Morto Tonya and her legacy, and we ask that you keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they get through this very difficult time.

Oh, Tonya. I will miss you so dearly. You were love and light and compassion and optimism- everything good in this world. I will always admire how you brought your whole heart- your whole self- to everything you endeavored to do. “Mother. Educator. Optimist-In that order”. And with each of those dimensions of your incredible life, you led with love and fierce determination to leave the world and those in it a little better off than before. You did this for me in our friendship, and I’ll be forever grateful for the privilege of knowing you.
