Hello Friends and Colleagues,

This #GivingTuesday we want to bring your attention to our Raise Your Hand Campaign to Re-Engage Students in Learning During COVID Crisis. Project Tomorrow is partnering with wethink, a company with a new approach to helping students develop workplace skills, to launch an innovative program to help re-engage, re-energize, re-connect students with learning using popular team-based video game environments.

Per Speak Up research, students say that playing online and video games help them develop teamwork and collaboration skills, critical think and problem-solving skills and creativity skills. All key skills that students need to be successful in college and future jobs. Plus 62% of students say games should be part of any school experience today!

Here are some more Speak Up stats:

▪ 50% of teachers reported using games within remote learning instruction on a weekly basis during school closures, an increase of 7% points compared to before school closures and compared to usage during the 2018/19 school year.

▪51% of 6-8 graders and 47% of 9-12 graders play games on their own, beyond teacher sponsorship or facilitation, to support self-directed learning.

▪ 10% of school principals said they were considering adding an e-sports team to their school prior to school closures compared to 29% that noted that they were now considering this during spring 2020.

This innovative new program leans into those realities by facilitating opportunities for students to learn future-ready skills through team-based gaming experiences through their school. Online from home during virtual learning or in a physical classroom, this process works to engage kids in learning collaboratively while at the same time breaking down those walls of isolation and disconnection.

We want to bring this program to 500 schools in the United States over the next 90 days. But we cannot do this alone. We need the help of everyone who cares about kids and their future.

Will you join us? Will you Raise Your Hand? You can do so by nominating your school or donating now!
