Lined with rushnyk, an embroidered cloth or white cloth
▪ Paska. Usually with candle in centre, which will be lit at church.
▪ Babka. Babka bread is ancient symbol of our matriarchal culture.
▪ Pussy Willow. Willow celebrates the rebirth of life in spring. Usually tied to basket handle with ribbon.
▪ Pysanky. Eggs with blessings and protection written on them. Endless shape is symbolic of eternity.
▪ Krashanky. Dyed hard boiled eggs in many colours. Usually made with vegetable dyes: beets, spinach, onions. Instructions are on my website.
▪ Eggs. Hard boiled and peeled. While in this season we treat eggs as sacred symbols, they also sustain our lives in practical way.

▪ Salt and Pepper. Salt symbolizes eternity, as it preserves. Pepper for spice of life.
▪ Kobasa. Fresh or smoked, to symbolize abundant food. And/or Ham.
▪ Cut spring flowers and periwinkle. Use only live plants, to celebrate new life in spring. Never artificial. Again, always fresh and live, for renewal of life. Periwinkle, barvinok, is special blue flower for Ukrainians. Is extremely hardy perennial that look very delicate. It symbolize eternity of soul, and of spirit of our people.
