THE MUSICIAN NEWSLETTER: 12TH - 26TH JUNE

Those of you observant enough may have noticed the not-so deliberate mistake - Wednesday 25th June should have contained the blurb for Goldwater and The Bobcats! We apologise for any confusion caused!

Hi all, a quick look at what's coming up over the next fortnight at the Musician for you!

Beginning with tonight, unfortunately The Sea have had to cancel at short notice due to illness. However, headlining will be Goldray (feat. Kenwyn House from Reef) plus support from local outfit The Greys. Tickets are just £5 on the door.

For our fantastic San Francisco Nights show on July 26th (featuring members of Big Brother & The Holding Company, Country Joe & The Fish and the Steve Miller Band amongst others), we will be opening the doors slightly earlier than usual at 7:45pm. Support comes from Diesel Park West frontman John Butler who will go on stage at 8:10pm. A show not to be missed!

In order to view the content correctly, we recommend adding mailinglist@themusicianpub.co.uk to your safe senders list. If you have already added us previously, please note that you will need to do so again as this is a new address.

Thank you for all your continued support and we look forward to seeing you soon!

GOLDRAY

FEAT. KENWYN HOUSE OF REEF

£5 | plus The Greys
www.goldrayband.com
www.facebook.com/thegreys1

Goldray are Leah Rasmussen, Kenwyn House and Geoff Laurens and Chris Hardwick. House had previously seen huge success as the man behind Reef’s riff-driven alt.rock that exploded across the nineties and noughties. Rasmussen was enjoying a career fronting hits for the likes of Hydrogen, Bedrock and Renaissance, but the pair’s dynamic took them towards psychedelic rock: House’s hooks complemented by Rasmussen’s powerful but smooth Kate Bush-esque vocals.

"Pitch together the moodiness of the Doors, the grooviness of Cream and the trippiness of early Floyd and you get this splendid prog 'n' psych magical carpet ride" - Classic Rock Magazine

Please note that The Sea have had to pull out of tonight's show due to illness. If you require a refund, please contact WeGotTickets Customer Service

When two brothers and two strangers met in the rough, tough, seedy back alleys of Kettering town, Northants, little did they know that on that dark hazy night their lives would be changed forever. For when a funkyass meteorite crashed into the ground between them and they were exposed to a mysterious cosmic radiation not seen on Earth since at least the 50s (gooooood times), the boys were imbued with mighty superpowers, and recognising the tremendous burden they now carried, the four boys became... THE KOKOMO KINGS

£8adv £10door
www.kokomokings.com

Take a big bucket of unpolished Mississippi juke joint boogie and blend it with another bucket of laid back down home blues. Add a teacup of swamp pop, a tablespoon of hillbilly and a pound of profane, ecstatic gospel and you'll have the Kokomo Kings. This is rock 'n' roll before rock 'n' roll was born. Nothing but primitive, groovy Saturday-night music made for dancing.

The band is a collaboration of some of Sweden and Denmark's absolute top players. After years of backing a long list of international blues artists like James Harman, Mud Morganfield, Big Jack Johnson, Lazy Lester and many more, and playing with a number of Scandinavian bands like The Instigators, The Domestic Bumblebees, Paul & The Blue Delivery and Peter Nande Band, they decided to start a new band and do their own thing.
