Children's Ministry

Collide Kids Online - There is a difference between knowing of someone and knowing someone well! In order to be a disciple of Jesus, we must get to know Him personally so we can live like He lived and love like He loved.

Grab your kid(s) and spend 25 minutes together singing, dancing, laughing, and learning! We would love for you to also have your child(ren) memorize this week's scripture verse and motions and upload a video of them in the comment section under the video on the CLC Facebook page! Have a great week, Collide Kids!

Youth Group

As of now, the plan is to resume meetings in the spring - after Easter - when the weather is better and we can spend some time outside.

Prayer

For whom are you praying today? How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"God is so good - He loves us so much! Getting right into my word for the week - “LOVE.” Oh the “love” of God is like no other. Every morning when I start out my day, I pray that I show God’s “love” to everyone that crosses my path for the day. You know we do not always agree with everyone that may cross our path but……we need to show them God’s “love” just the same. When we show God’s “love,” some wonderful things can and will happen. God’s “love” casts out all fear. God’s “love” comforts us in times of sadness. God’s “love” mends a broken heart. “Love” is not an emotion or feeling - it is a choice. There are certainly days we may not feel like walking in God’s “love” with others. We are all human and some days it may be hard. We need to remember - God’s “love” was poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. Let the Holy Spirit be our guide. Even when we may have been unlovable - God “loved” us. There can be such freedom in seeing people through God’s “love.” In the New Revised Standard bible, “love” is mentioned 538 times. More times than days in the year. People are hurting and they need us to show them God’s “love.” We never know what someone may be facing. We can use God’s “love” to minister to them."

"I challenge us all to really concentrate on sharing God’s “love” with everyone. Are you up for that challenge? I certainly am. I will be anticipating wonderful opportunities to show God’s “love” to others. Have a super blessed week!"

If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I am bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.
~ 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 (MSG)

News of the Week

February has been full of fun and new adventures so far! The icy temperatures have kept our crew inside but they have not stopped learning new skills. We tried some paper making, crafting both seed paper and seed balls, since our thoughts are turning to planting. In our organizing sprees, we have found some past their prime seeds, so we turned those into seed mosaics as well as food for the birds. We picked up the power tools again to build another raised bed and a birdhouse. We have also been busy sorting seeds, working on our planting maps, and making organic catnip toys along with doing our normal cleaning tasks.

For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.

.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
