Dear !
For some of us, the holidays can be hard. Maybe it's a time when you lost a loved one or experienced trauma. Or maybe you're just overwhelmed with all the expectations and commercialism of the holiday season.
One report from the Nat'l Alliance on Mental Illness suggests that 64% of people with mental health issues feel worse during the holidays.
If you are one of these people, I reach out my hand to you. Drop your troubles into the palm of my hand. Leave them with me. Don’t take your problems home to your families and loved ones, just leave them with me. Later when I go to the ocean and walk the sand along the beach, I will throw your troubles in the water.
This beautiful gesture was inspired by Elizabeth Gilbert (read more here):
We live in a hard world. Sometimes it is extra difficult to be a human being. There are times when everything seems cloaked in darkness. You long for the light but don’t know where to find it.
But what if you are the light? What if you are the very agent of illumination that a dark situation begs for?
"No matter who you are, or where you are, or how mundane or tough your situation may seem, I believe you can illuminate your world. In fact, I believe this is the only way the world will ever be illuminated, one bright act of grace at a time."~~ Elizabeth Gilbert
I hope you all have a beautiful, safe, gentle holidays.
Take care of your hearts. xox
