1000 Books Before Kindergarten

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

1,000 Books before Kindergarten is an early literacy skill building program for children from birth to age five. This program is simple and the rewards are priceless. Simply read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes, you can repeat books) before your child starts kindergarten. Receive a prize for each 100 books read. Information packets are available at the Children’s Desk.

March Madness

March Madness for Young Adult Books

March Madness for Young Adult (YA) Books is coming! Staff members have been reading and choosing which books get to move on to the next round. Eventually, we will have one winning title. Beginning February 1, any teen can fill out a bracket with their guess as to how it will all play out. The teen whose bracket comes closest to ours will win a prize! All the books included in our YA Book March Madness program can be found on our website. You do not have to read all of the books in order to fill out a bracket. Brackets will be available at the library and on our website February 1.
