THE DEPUTATION ROAD TO SPRINGVILLE

MONTHLY SUPPORT LEVEL: 24%

JULY-AUGUST

*Waiting for the arrival of Brooklyn Rose (due date: July 29) & parenting this cutie!

A couple of prayer requests for this couple:

1. Marisa's pregnancy & nearing delivery date (end of July)
2. Wisdom regarding the possible purchase of a travel trailer
3. Fall meetings (including much needed mid-week meetings - many churches don't seem to have too many missionaries in for a mid-week service)

Oswald J. Smith

1889-1986, Canadian pastor, author, hymn writer, missionary statesman, & evangelist

▪ We talk of the Second Coming; half the world has never heard of the first.
▪ The supreme task of the church is the evangelization of the world.
▪ There can be no prevailing in prayer without travailing in prayer.
▪ Only those who spend much time in HIs presence will ever become like Him.
▪ The Bible distinguishes between "having" the Holy Spirit, which is true of all believers, and being "filled" with the Holy Spirit, which is true of very few.
▪ The church that does not evangelize will fossilize.

THOUGHTS FROM OUR FOUNDING FATHERS

▪ We are either a United people, or we are not. If the former, let us, in all matters of general concern act as a nation, which have national objects to promote, and a national character to support. If we are not, let us no longer act a farce by pretending to it. – George Washington, letter to James Madison (1785)
▪ The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind. – Thomas Payne, “Common Sense” (1776)
▪ Every man who loves peace, every man who loves his country, every man who loves liberty ought to have it ever before his eyes that he may cherish in his heart a due attachment to the Union of America and be able to set a due value on the means of preserving it. – James Madison, Federalist No. 41
▪ Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors; and capacity, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of life, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence. – Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution (1833)
▪ We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately. – Benjamin Franklin, at the signing of the Declaration of Independence (1776)
▪ There! His Majesty can now read my name without glasses. And he can double the reward on my head! – John Hancock, upon signing the Declaration of Independence (1776)
