Christmas Treats From GG

The elves at Goodness Grows were busy this week with Christmas projects. One of those projects was a special gift for each of our church families! This Sunday, make sure you find Rachel Vignon and get your family's Christmas present from your friends at GG! Merry Christmas!

Prayer

For whom are you praying today?
How can we pray for you?

We are here to pray with and for you, anytime! Prayer needs sent by early Monday morning will be included in the weekly Joys & Concerns email. We are also glad to send out prayer requests and praise reports anytime throughout the week!

Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing
and Darla Smith for writing these weekly
bits of encouragement.

"I pray your week has been blessed. We are in the homestretch of the year end. Looking back, this has been a year of blessing me with many new friends and blessing me with my dear friends and family. I am so thankful for all of you in my life, everyone special in their own way. Fills my life with so much love. “So blessed, I can’t contain it – so much I gotta give it away” – sang that song on Sunday – kinda sums up my year. God is good! All the time!"

"My “WORD” for this week is “UNWRAP.” My buddy Leroy at church brought the message on Sunday and it was about Jesus being our Gift from God. He said we need to “unwrap” Jesus. Boy, that hit me square in the heart! God wanted me to share with others to “unwrap” Jesus. Share His love and light wherever you go and whoever you talk to. We are His hands and feet. We are His witnesses. We are His disciples to share Jesus. Let our light shine brightly for Him. Let our love and encouragement be contagious so others will do the same. I will never think of the word “unwrap” in the same way again. Oh, how precious of a gift we were all given. Eternal life, if we choose to “unwrap” our Savior. “Unwrap” Jesus and share Him with everyone you meet the rest of this year and in the years to come. Thank you, Leroy, for sharing what God gave you so I can share with others in my encouragement. Have a wonderful week to “unwrap” and share. Just see how good you will feel!"

"that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness
toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,"
~ Ephesians 2:7-8 (NKJV)

Our crew has been working hard and having plenty of fun this week. Cameron Fortune is back to work while on his Christmas break. (Welcome home, Cam!) Everyone is very excited to have him back with us as we tackle a variety of seasonal tasks. Over the last few days, GG has shopped for an Angel Tree child, made Christmas treats for the church, helped with organizing H&H items in the warehouse, worked on outside projects, and more. We are all looking forward to special guest Bonnie Andrusewicz coming next week to bake cookies with us...just like she did last year. It is so nice to have a festive annual tradition like this! Hard to believe that in just over a week, we will be having our GG Christmas celebration and then going on Christmas break as well!

OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Goodness Grows

The non-profit ministry of CGCC, Goodness Grows
is always busy on our property. GG works with students
and adults with disabilities, providing vocational habilitation
training in a fun, hands-on way. The GG crew maintains
the grounds and cleans the building.

Did you know...you can shop from the comfort of your own home & still support GG...and it costs you absolutely nothing?!?! Whenever you shop through Amazon, you can earn money for our 501(c)3 non-profit, using their AmazonSmile program (smile.amazon.com). This foundation donates 0.5% of the purchase price. On your first visit to AmazonSmile, you'll be prompted to select an organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you shop. After that, all eligible purchases you make on AmazonSmile will result in a donation. So, to put it simply, go to AmazonSmile when shopping online, choose Goodness Grows as your charity, and that's it!
Every penny really does make a huge difference. Thanks from all of us at GG!!!

~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Elf Workshop at Salem Library
Saturday, 10am-12:30pm
The winter holidays are nearly upon us but here's a chance for kids, ages 8-14, to create a special handmade gift for a loved one for any upcoming holiday they'd like to celebrate! There will be 3 different crafts/gifts to chose from. This program is for older kids because, while adult caregivers are not prohibited and should probably stay fairly close by, the kids usually insist you leave the program area so they can make you something special that is a surprise! Past options have included bath bombs, sugar scrubs, picture frames, decorated mugs, etc but this year's will remain a secret for the elves. Kids can drop in any time between 10 and 12 to work their elf magic but should allow 30 minutes per craft and can make up to 3 gifts, if time and supplies allow. Registration is requested to make sure we have enough elf magic for everyone!
Harvey Firestone's Birthday Celebration at Harbel's Market
We will have clothespin cookies, baked goods, and local vendors offering last minute Christmas gifts. Please come join us for this Birthday celebration and see all our special guests.
