In Support of a Worthy Cause:

The Platters

Rock the Square

for the

Boone County Heritage Museum!

PlattersBCHM feat

"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"…"The Great Pretender"…"Only You (and You Alone)"…with hits like these, is it any wonder that The Platters were the only group to have three songs featured in the movie American Graffiti?

The Ozark Arts Council is thrilled to sponsor an evening that features The Golden Sounds of the Platters as a fundraiser for a local treasure in need, the Boone County Heritage MuseumThe Golden Sounds of the Platters! We often think we know the history of our area and, therefore, neglect our museum—but, as this page shows, there are generations of knowledge from far beyond the Harrison city limits included in its exhibits! In fact, BCHM's curator, Toinette Madison, even discovered something about a long-standing mystery concerning our own historic theater that its investigation will be the subject of the premiere episode of the new TV show, The Ozark Surfer!

For half of what you would pay in Branson, you can not only see a great show, but contribute to the preservation of Boone County's history, Visit our Ticketing Web Site, stop in at the Museum, or call (870) 391-3504 for tickets!

Additionally, the box office at the Lyric will open at 6:00 this evening…but why stand in line when you can buy online and head right in to the coolest and hottest theater around?!?

The Platters—with Special Guest, James White

7:00 on Friday, June 23; all tickets $16 (tax included).

Do you love being in the theater, but not being "in theatre"? Have we got a deal for you!

The historic Lyric Theater stays open and hosting wonderful performers from Harrison and from around the world because of two things: 1) People who love seeing plays and concerts so that they are happy to pay for tickets so we can pay the bills, and 2) People who love seeing plays and concerts so that they become members of the Ozark Arts Council…so that we can pay the bills…and renovate…and expand our programming…and…

Once every year—this year on Sunday, June 25 at 4:00—the members of the OAC gather to discuss briefly the past year's activities, the status and needs of the OAC, upcoming events, and the like. We also elect members of our Board of Directors for the upcoming year.

Now is a great time to join or to renew your membership in the OAC, and to join us for a status update and to be a part of our planning and activities going forward. We hope that you will send in your membership form and that you will be with us on June 25!
