Fresh from a busy summer of gigs including a high profile performance at the prestigious Love Supreme Festival, rising Charlotte Glasson Band plays mainly original tunes composed by Charlotte - inspired by Gypsy jazz, Ska, Blues, Latin and World music.
The band has performed all over the UK including London Jazz Festival, Birmingham Jazz Festival, Marlborough Jazz Festival, Love Supreme, the Jazz Café and Ronnie Scott's. Featuring: Charlotte Glasson (saxes, flutes, violin and saw); Mark Bassey (trombone); Chris Spedding (guitar); Chris Kibble (keyboards); Mick Hutton (bass); and Sam Glasson (drums). Charlotte has released seven CDs with her band and also plays in The Brighton Beach Boys.
The band is touring to promote the new album, Bonito, recorded earlier this year. The tunes collected reflect Charlotte’s fascination into what inspires other artists, and the album takes its name from Frida Kahlo’s 'Parrot'. Drawing on the lives and loves of a variety of artists for inspiration, the songs tell tales of countries seen, seas sailed, games played and the joy of life as a creative dance.
Bonito, Charlotte's eighth album, is released September '22 and will be previewed 25 August at Pizza Express, Soho. >> LISTEN HERE<<
