Surrender to What?
Wow, has it been a month! We first had and still have all the challenges of the pandemic, now we have the additional tensions, fears and rage of the racism epidemic in our country. It is a time of huge change which, for many of us means, hold on tight, but I encourage us to surrender. First be willing to surrender and then to surrender all that we think we have to control.
I found myself in struggle because I wanted to know what my life, what my job as a massage therapist was going to look like. Then when the racism of our country reared it's ugly head again, I found more layers of surrender that had to happen for me. Taking responsibility for my unconsciousness of what my brothers and sisters have lived. Learning more and on deeper levels of how I experience white privilege. Seeing, hearing and understanding some of the unjust experiences my brothers and sisters of color have had to and continue to experience, has been humbling. It has been a time of surrender for me. Surrendering how I am moving forward, how I speak up more when I see injustice. Surrender fighting for anything and be willing to experience what I desire in my heart (oneness, equality, unity, peace and justice). Let go of fighting for anything. __ Mother Teresa said, "I will not fight against war, but I am happy to attend a peace rally." This perspective of focusing on what she/we want, creates a vibration of manifestation for what it is we want to see in the world. "Be the change you want to see in the world." If we don't want separation, create unity! Surrender all that is not peace, not oneness and not equality. Search your mind and heart for what that means to you. As each of us heal as individuals, by giving up all these false beliefs, we also help heal the nation.
