Did you know that 1 of the 7000 plus languages of the world disappears every two weeks? Costa Rica could loose half of it´s 10 languages in the next 10-25 years!

We are in the final stages of our preparations for the Tribe to Tribe 2016 encounter where we will be training native language speakers for "Planning the Future of Their Language". You will remember that last year in July we held the first Tribe to Tribe (T2T) conference for the tribal peoples of Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Our trainer this year will be Eva Mamani from SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics in Peru. SIL works in close cooperation with it´s sister branch Wycliffe Bible Translators) and she will be focusing on sustainable language development for all 10 tribal languages present in Costa Rica. In August we will hold a similar event with Eva in Nicaragua, for it´s tribal languages. Eva is a Social Linguistics expert and language development trainer. We have also invited Sue Bendabout Chancellor a Cherokee pastor from Oklahoma to speak to tribal leaders during the evening sessions.

Our goal this year is to bring 3 and in some cases 4 native language speakers together as representatives from each of Costa Rica´s 10 tribes up to a maximum of 35 participants.

In order to make the event possible we need your assistance to help us finance it: And please hurry we are running out of time!

We have to pay for the airline ticket of our SIL language development trainer to fly in from Lima, Peru. Aproximate cost: $650.00
We will need to provide a full scholarship of $140.00 for each native language speaker. This amount pays for transportation, food and lodging, written materials and promotion for 5 days. That is $28.00 per day. An amazingly inexpensive price by US and European Standards.

Please pray and consider sponsoring 1 or 2 or our tribal language speakers or by paying the airfare of our trainer from Perú.
