We spent last Friday in a Christmas mood. We baked and frosted cookies with Bonnie Andrusewicz, Dustin Snyder's aunt. (Thanks, Bonnie!) We had a Christmas feast, exchanged gifts, and enjoyed time together completing a new puzzle. Our friends and summer interns, Darius and Cameron, came to enjoy part of the day with us, which we appreciated very much! It was a wonderful way to end 2019! We will be back to our normal schedule on January 2, 2020.

Happy New Year from all of us at Goodness Grows!

As a small non-profit, Goodness Grows depends upon generous supporters who give monetary support. A contribution to Goodness Grows is tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law. As you are pondering what organizations to support as 2019 draws to a close, please consider a gift to Goodness Grows. Your donations help us to continue our mission of working with people of all abilities.

OUTREACH and MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

Ongoing Outreach/Mission Opportunity

Coat & Clothing & More Drive
Keep saving all your clothing and outerwear items for our 2020 giveaway. Tell your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers that we will accept donations all year! Clothes for all ages and sizes needed, along with coats, bags, purses, shoes, housewares, books, toys...whatever you think might help someone in need. Drop items off in the collection barrel or take them up to the Green Room. Now that Christmas is over, it is a great time to do some closet organizing!

CGCC Mission Giving

We usually end up doing the bulk of our mission giving in December. This year, Common Ground was pleased to be able to offer support to the following organizations that are doing good works locally, nationally, and internationally:
Akron Children's Hospital, Boardman Campus
Wycliffe Bible Translators, for the ministry of Adam & Bonnie Shank
Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley
God's Choice
Goodness Grows

Please keep these groups, their work, and the people they touch in your prayers,
now and throughout the coming year.

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
Matthew 25: 35-36, 40
LOCAL COMMUNITY NEWS/EVENTS
please let us know, so that we can pass it on to others!
Christmas Bird Count
Hosted by Columbiana County Park District
Are you a birder? Or do you feed the birds? There is still time to help, on December 28, with the annual Christmas bird count sponsored by the Audubon Society.
The idea is simple: we count all of the birds we see during a one-day span in a designated circle.
On December 28, we will count the birds in a circle that is situated in Salem.
If you're interested in participating, either in the field or at your feeder, call 330-268-1128.
The Festival of Trees
The McKinley Memorial Museum
40 N Main St, Niles, Ohio 44446
Now through January 10th, view a variety of trees decorated by the local community.
Museum hours are 9am - 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Mill Creek Park ~ Winter Scavenger Hunt
December 26, 27, 28, 31 - 10am-5pm and December 29 - 12-5pm
Bring the whole family out to Ford Nature Center to enjoy the season with a Winter Scavenger Hunt. Pick up your list then get outside to discover the wonders of Nature. Bring your camera or phone to document your findings. (Inside hunt also available). Call Ford Nature Center, 330.740.7107, for details.
