I spent a couple of months last year outlining Necromancer Ascending, book 3 of the international bestselling The Mukhtaar Chronicles, and came to the following conclusion:
I didn't like it, and neither would you. (That's my "I didn't like it, and neither will you" pose in the picture. I'm weird that way.)
This had nothing to do with being a perfectionist! (Does that shirt I'm wearing scream "perfectionist!" to you?) No, it was because, in some ways, the reason the story works is that Nicolas's spiritual development mirrors my own...
And Nicolas was getting ahead of me!
So, I decided to get back to what I do best when I'm not writing or developing software at my day job; playing video games and reflecting on life, the universe, and everything (with apologies to Douglas Adams). I'm happy to report, it was the right decision.
