Encouragement

Thank you to Marcia Kreps for sharing and Darla Smith for writing these weekly bits of encouragement.

"God is so good – His lovingkindness shown to us everyday is beyond words. I pray you all are having a super blessed week. The sun is shining today and that makes everything so much better."

"I have been praying everyday that I see things the way Jesus would. My Word for this week is “MEND." I have been seeing so many hearts and minds that are needing to “mend,” myself included. The devil is working overtime to distract, hurt, and separate. There are so many families and friends that are not speaking to one another for maybe an unkind word, disagreement, misunderstanding, addiction, or just because. It is all the enemy's plan, but we need to stand strong and united and “mend” our families, our relationships, our friends. I thought of my sister’s expert sewing skills. If something has a rip or a tear in it, she can “mend” it and you would not even be able to tell anything was ever wrong. I pray we all can do just that. I pray we can reach out and “mend” any relationship that may be broken. Let us make prayer our first resort to “mend” and God will do His part. Holy Spirit, “mend” our hearts and minds to see things through Jesus’ eyes. I pray we can all do our part to “mend” whatever we need to. May we all have a healing week!"

"A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak."
~ Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NLT)

"Making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
~ Ephesians 4:3 (NRSV)

Pastor Mike on Vacation

Pastor Mike is on vacation through May 4. If you have a physical need, please contact your Deacon. If you have a spiritual need, please contact one of the Elders.

Volunteer Weeders Always Welcome

Want to play in the soil and enjoy nature anytime from now through the fall?
Weeders are always needed and dearly loved! Stop out anytime to pull some weeds and take a stroll through our grounds. There are tools in the bench under the front awning, with buckets and (sometimes) a wheelbarrow near by. Stow your weeds in the buckets or wheelbarrow and then leave them under the awning for GG to dump, or if Rachel is here, she can show you where our weed pile is. There are areas all around the property where you can enjoy some good old-fashioned weeding time. Feel free to contact Rachel or stop by M-F between 8:30am-2pm and she will be glad to give you her famous tour of "Great Places for a Perfect Weeding Experience!"

Egg Cartons Needed

If you have egg cartons to donate, please bring them in and drop them at the front desk.
Thank you to all who have already dropped off some cartons.

News of the Week

Another early spring week of busyness here at GG. We all enjoyed a beautiful butterfly release and are looking forward to many more over the coming months. Our crew was also thankful for the chocolate goodies that the youth made for us. Chocolate really does make anything better!

Our trash dumpster arrived bright and early Monday morning and we put in many hours of packing it full of the pile of rubbish we unearthed out back. Miss Rachel truly has mad skills when it comes to fitting as much stuff as possible, neatly, in any container! She is probably a champion Tetris player!

This week has been full of walking in the woods, weeding, and planting...all excellent spring activities! We also had a visit from our new friends Adam and Logan from Central State University. They walked the woods with us and did an impressive job of skipping stones on our stream. They will be advising us on caring for the woods and improving the back greenhouses. Everyone truly enjoyed their visit and we are all so excited to be working with them!

~~~~~~~
For I was hungry and you gave me food;
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink;
I was a stranger and you took me in;
I was naked and you clothed me;
I was sick and you visited me.
I was in prison and you came to me.
.....When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,
you were doing it to me.
